I am using Maybank 2 card for almost 1 year already, now wish to switch to OCBC Titanium, reason is AMEX card is not widely accepted. But my annual income does not fulfill the requirement, will I 100% get rejected by OCBC?
*
Well, I'm not sure what is the selection criteria.
I fulfill the income criteria and have been a good paymaster, yet I got rejected.
Now in appeal case... My agent is helping me, even he has no answers for me.

Based on my experience, if request low credit limit like 5k, 8k, the chance to get this card will b more higher since ocbc now is kedekut with credit limit...they gv a very low credit limit...
*
The agent didn't tell me about this. Some more tell me I can get higher CL compared to my CIMB and Maybank. shakehead.gif
Either I call him tomorrow that I could tolerate with lower CL or just wait till this first round of appeal has an update for me.

to sis fruitie, no worries, your card will be approved after the appeal. Guess they want to keep their quota of successful card application for the next month's sale  wink.gif

Good for you. smile.gif
I'm still waiting for mine. smile.gif

Mine was rejected too, now in appeal session.
Status: Unknown
I fulfill every requirement though. smile.gif

QUOTE(Vcys86 @ Apr 11 2012, 02:35 PM)
Sorry to hear that.

May i check with you several question.
1. Do they provide any reason for rejection? Will the agent appeal for us?
2. The bank called to you to inform this?
3. How many days you get this news after verification call from OCBC?

I am worried i might be get rejected too. So anxious now.
*
1. The agent can't answer as he is not sure why mine is rejected
2. The agent called and informed me
3. Less than a week

A very similar to my case, and now I am the holder of Titanium.

Guess they delay this approval to meet their every month's sale quota. Who knows.
*
I'm not sure why but my intuition tells me that my appeal will not be successful.

bank negara malaysia credit card guidelines

The eligibility requirements for credit cards are revised as follows:

- The minimum income eligibility for new credit card holders is set at RM24,000 per annum;

- For cardholders earning RM36,000 per annum and less, the following would be applicable:-

Cardholders can only hold credit cards from a maximum of two issuers.
Existing cardholders who currently hold credit cards from more than two issuers are given up to the end of 2011 to select their preferred issuers. Cardholders will also be given at least two years to service their outstanding credit card debt for the credit cards that have been cancelled for the purpose of meeting this requirement.

The maximum credit limit extended to a cardholder shall not exceed two times their monthly income per issuer.
For existing cardholders, whose credit card outstanding balance exceeds the maximum credit limit, a grace period of two years will be given to them to meet with the new requirement.
*
Er, OCBC Ti's minimum requirement is 36k per annum. So the above ruling should not be applicable in this case.

fruitie, my agent told me the reason, but yours doesn't know the reason?
My agent appealed for me already.
*
Yes, my reason is unknown. Probably he doesn't want to tell me? I don't know... He just asked me to submit in my EPF statement for him to appeal.
More than a week already, I followed up on Monday, he said still in appeal state.

Follow instructions on the menu, inside the credit card menu, got an option, 4, i think that allows u to check the card.
You need to key in ur IC number. After that it will tell you your IC number, the card applied for, and status.
*
I didn't know can check through this no. laugh.gif
So just called, first application was not successful. Second application says "card in processing".
Looks like I need to stretch my patience a bit. tongue.gif

Is this your first credit card? usually there is only a few reasons for not successful:
1) Your yearly wages is below the limit (which in your case i think u should be ok)
2) first time credit card application
3) have a bad payment record or too much debt on other cards
4) etc
*
I think I fall into category no. 4 which the reasons are unknown. laugh.gif

"Card is under processing" - Does this statement carry the slightest hope for me that I'll get this card? hmm.gif

Damn my application got rejected. This is my first time applying for a CC (I do have a supp CC though), and my net salary is above RM 3,000. Any reasons why they rejected me? Who I do appeal to?
*
Normal, me and a few members here got rejected as well. Fulfilled the requirements with no liability, I'm still in appeal case now.
How did you apply yours? Mine through agent, so he handles everything for me. From time to time, I was asked to submit in more documents should the approving team think my documents are not sufficient. To be honest, I'm quite tired with it already. laugh.gif

Other Bank = Apply-->Approve
OCBC = Apply-->Reject-->Appeal-->Require additional documents-->Approve

Since it is the most valuable card to the card holders, it can play around with u and it knows that u will APPEAL during the process.

Wonder whether it is making a loss biz in Titanium card...???

Exactly the same experience except that I'm still at the stage which I put in bold up there. doh.gif Since 17th April. doh.gif doh.gif
I can't take it anymore and I spoke to the CS attended to my case yesterday, he promised to give me an update next week.
I told him, "I have never experienced such a tedious process just to get my CC approved. FYI, I'm always offered by other banks for their cards, only OCBC I tried to apply and you slam me with this. In addition, if I don't fulfill te requirement, then it is my problem. Now, I fulfill the requirements yet you rejected me? Not that I have bad record with other cards' payment. I need an update by next week or I'll totally forget about this card. Enough is enough."

He apologised for my bad encounter though... sad.gif

Usually banks prefer applicants with credit history (loan and etc.). smile.gif

Well, I don't have any loan but with credit cards from other banks. I'm still waiting for mine.

By the way, it is "qualify" and "qualification". wink.gif

Finally after Friday's call, my card's status has changed to "Card is Under Processing". Finally, there is a change...

My journey from 22nd March 2012:
Application > Rejected > Appeal > Card is under processing > Pending for documents > Card is under processing

I hope that's the end, else I can't come out from this loop at all. rclxub.gif

Can I know how you appeal after you application has been rejected? Call to CS to appeal or send letter?

Oh I applied via OCBC agent, so he helps me to appeal. smile.gif After getting the same update from him, I have decided to pursue with CS... Luckily the one attended to my case was helpful, now I finally heard some changes...

Finally OCBC people called me and said it is already approved. Phew. sweat.gif Already sent out yesterday.

So, calling to CS makes a difference. My agent is basically useless and asked me to keep waiting. I should have talked to the CS earlier. shakehead.gif

Surprisingly, the CL is slightly higher than my Maybank2Gold. biggrin.gif
