QUOTE(silverarrows @ May 18 2011, 10:46 AM) If there is difficulty allocating a branch to make payment, my advice is open an OCBC basic saving account. You can transfer via GIRO within HOUSE network (HSBC, OCBC, UOB, SCBMB) & the charges is as low as 50 cents. It is much more cheaper compared driving a car to settle the bill. That's what I did I think you got HOUSE Network and MEPS IBG all mixed up. HOUSE Network refers to the shared ATM network for HSBC, OCBC, UOB and StanChart. For online funds transfers, everything will go through MEPS IBG.QUOTE(jasonlim_82 @ May 18 2011, 08:20 PM) how about paying those maxis, telekom, tnb via www.payonline.com? For TM, you can pay via www.tmonline.com.my and you'll get 5% cash back.QUOTE(jasonlim_82 @ May 18 2011, 08:20 PM) how about paying astro bill via www.astro.com.my? For Astro, you can make the payment directly from OCBC Online and you'll get 5% cash back too. This post has been edited by MilesAndMore: May 19 2011, 01:31 AM |

QUOTE(silverarrows @ May 19 2011, 11:07 AM) Within HOUSE network, either you make interbank fund transfer between CASA or ATM withdrawal you are enjoying special low rate (i.e. RM0.50) compared to the transfer between local banks and HOUSE banks (i.e. RM1 or RM2). Anyway, you can call your bank to verify this matter, my online transfer between SCB and OCBC saving account charged RM0.50, I assume the same charges should apply to other HOUSE banks, correct me if I am wrong. No. That is not true. Not for OCBC Bank and not for any other banks on the HOUSE Network either. You are being charged RM0.50 for each successful funds transfer to another bank because you are using the Basic Savings Account from OCBC Bank and this has absolutely nothing to do with HOUSE Network. HOUSE Network is only responsible for ATM cash withdrawals for its member banks and the charge is RM1 for each successful withdrawal (only StanChart Priority Banking customers don't have to pay this fee). |

QUOTE(silverarrows @ May 19 2011, 01:23 PM) I see, maybe I should state HOUSE member banks instead of HOUSE network (for ATM). Thanks for clarification. Actually, you should have just stated MEPS IBG. All funds transfers are to be processed through the MEPS network, be it to HSBC, Public Bank or Citibank. HOUSE Network or HOUSE member banks shouldn't be mentioned at all as none of these has anything to do with the online funds transfers which you said you are being charged only RM0.50/transfer.And by the way, OCBC, HSBC, StanChart and UOB Bank are all MEPS member banks too. All of these banks have long been participating in the MEPS IBG service. |

QUOTE(aeiou228 @ May 29 2011, 10:25 AM) Why use UOB payment portal instead of OCBC online to pay ? If i'm not mistaken, we can't make payment to TM via OCBC online portal. I pay my TM bills via tmonline.com.my and get 5% cash back. So far i've gotten really lucky and everything charged to my OCBC Titanium MasterCard gets 5% cash back |

QUOTE(chemistry @ May 31 2011, 07:38 PM) I frequently Alpha Pharmacy because their price is very competitive. Well, at least they are still willing to accept VISA/MasterCard with no extra charge Frankly say, even with Amex's 7.5% (5%+2.5%) cashback, Caring/watson/Guardian still can't beat Alpha. |

Helped my mom to apply for the OCBC Titanium MasterCard last week. I found out that it was rejected just two days after i sent in the application form. So, i made an appeal on the next morning which is last Friday and my mom received a call from OCBC just about 2 hours later. They requested that my mom fax or email them another supporting document. In my mom's case, they asked for the bank statement from the bank which my mom's salary is credited into which i already email to them on Monday morning. My mom received an sms from OCBC last night that her credit card is on its way

QUOTE(kennji @ Jul 22 2011, 09:14 AM) i just put in my details in the website and after a day an ocbc staff called. asked to fill in forms and email them ic copy only...just asked what is my credit limit of my present credit card which is more than one year. they didn't ask for any other documents. is that the usual case? Not really unusual. Anyway, this confirms that OCBC still accepts fresh application with just an existing card as reference. Too bad Maybank is not doing this anymore. QUOTE(gerrardling @ Jul 22 2011, 09:45 AM) ur mum applied using existing credit card ? bank statement as supporting document is enough already ? No. She doesn't have an existing principal credit card for close to 2 years already. She applied using her payslips only. It was first rejected. Then i made an appeal. I basically told them that she had 3 principal credit cards from 3 different banks about 2 years ago and there was not a single missed payment. I also told them that she never missed paying for her house mortgage and car loans and the car loans are due to be fully paid up next year. So i asked them to reconsider their decision which they did and now the card is already on its way |

QUOTE(yflai1 @ Jul 27 2011, 11:31 AM) There are another 2 to 3 different designs. But the one given by HSBC Msia, OCBC Msia and CIMB Bank looks like the one in the picture posted above. Anyway, i have one given by HSBC HK and it is different from the one we have here. Will post it up when i'm free QUOTE(shortleg88 @ Jul 27 2011, 01:37 PM) It seems OCBC can approve the titanium card without payslip if you have any existing CC more than a year that is more than RM9K credit limit. It won't work all the time. This post has been edited by MilesAndMore: Jul 27 2011, 03:33 PM |

QUOTE(kneok @ Aug 15 2011, 12:55 PM) guys, i just got ocbc but have no idea how to pay the credit card. if through online must have ocbc account is it? If you have an OCBC account, you can just do an internal transfer online. Alternatively, you can also make the payment by cheque (mail it to them or drop it via their cheque deposit machine), cash (via their cash deposit machine or counter) or IBG (Interbank GIRO). Please refer to this thread for more information. |

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Aug 23 2011, 06:52 PM) pm me for ocbc staff/agent contact. Try to send an email to cap@ocbc.com and ask them to email you an application for their Titanium MasterCard. Once you've received it, fill-in everything and send it back to the same email address along with all the necessary supporting documents. |

QUOTE(curaptz @ Aug 24 2011, 06:23 PM) Dear Gen-X, quoted from ur blog Gen-X has gone for holiday and will only be back by weekend. Anyway, a few of us have successfully got it using just our existing credit card more than 1 year old as reference and no, the actual income is actually lower than the required RM36k. So i guess it depends on your luck really. No harm trying To qualify for the card, you need to have minimum income of RM36,000 p.a. or at least have another credit card for no less than a year. To apply you can either go to their branch or download the application form and faxed back to them. Do this means that 1 could apply for ocbc titanium if he has a credit card more than a year but income not reach RM36000? |

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Aug 25 2011, 01:14 AM) Maybank basic saving account option 2 gives 50 cents for the first 2 IBG every month, but i reckon there are other cheaper options. For Maybank, RM0.50 is the cheapest and this rate applies only to their basic account for the first two IBG done in a month. The cheapest one would be totally free given to **HSBC Premier, **HSBC Premier-i, **HSBC Advance, **HSBC Advance-i (**unlimited), OCBC (just the iQ account and depends on which iQ account you have) and AmBank AMSTAR (5x times only per month). Citibank and Standard Chartered on the other hand, charge a one-flat rate of RM0.50/transfer for all account types. |
