Matrix:

SG = Sierra Glow, a silica based treatment (as opposed to teflon based PPS... iinm), same 5 years warranty on shine, but doesnt require yearly touch up. I have only used it for a few months, so cant tell on the long term issues of SG. Price is slightly lower than PPS (RM700).

Be aware that some SG owners do have watermark issues if the car was left outside and soaked in rain water for overnight, but u can always contact SG for a consultation (and I know SG does help in recondition for free, mostly depends on the damage).

Have not heard any problems about PPS, either that or none of the ppl that had PPS ever posted their issues (in this thread).

On the paint issue, I had air bubbles on my duck lip. They had arranged for me to visit a SC with paint shop (in Klang Valley, only Sect 13 PJ and COE Shah Alam has paint shop) to respray. The SC refused to change a new lip and insisted on respray. Luckily the lip can be removed and it was resprayed and reinstalled within 3 days. Mind you, my car went into SC in less than 24 hours to rectify this.

AFAIK, unless you car is in a very bad condition, its usual that owners takes delivery of the car and sends it into SC for warranty rectification. You can insist on not taking delivery of the car, and the SA will be the person responsible to rectify the conditions on your car... and you prolly may not want that...

Again, if the condition is super bad, you can reject the car and go over the registration process all over again...

Anyone tested the bluetooth of the inspira? Can connect with ur phone?
And the aux in use what header?? 3.5mm?? Need any special adapter to connect to my hp (for playing MP3 etc).
*
Any BT phone/ipod can connect, the HU supports A2DP (audio streaming) and AVRCP (control profile)... it can store up to 3 (or 5 donno coz dont have so many BT devices) devices... select BT AUDIO mode...

Once connected, you can make and receive BT phone calls (sound from front speakers, mic at the HU) too, and it will display the number or caller ID on screen too...

Aux in uses 3.5mm, simply jack in any MP3 player (or again phone) to it... select AUX mode...

Added on April 25, 2011, 12:58 pmAnd nope... the HU doesnt have USB port for direct playback... cry.gif cry.gif

Bluetooth connection no issues, poadster even connected up to 3 devices (but with some work around technique). For phone call, music is no issue with iphone or nokia, others should have no issues. Aux is 3.5mm but they did not provide this cable but the connector is available behind the HU unit. This can be simply solved at some acc shop, buy cable then ask them dismantle and plug in for u.
*
Fren, what are u smoking today???

The AUX 3.5mm jack is in front la... not back... there are no inputs at the back...

Also, our HU only have one pair RCA outs (for rear speakers only).... sigh.... cry.gif cry.gif

I'm sure because I'm driving alone all the time without the windows open. Seats don't get wet. Could it be a reason as well for the strong petrol smell after refuel? Any idea how long it'll take if sent to SC?
*
Even the seats are wet??? Damn... better check it at the SC soon... no idea how long but it will take some time (queue and check)...

The fuel smell can be rectified by some sealant to the petrol tank (under the back seat) and at the fueling nozzle area itself... it can be done at your next service, or do it at the SC while you are there checking the wet seats issue...

Poad, the seats DON'T get wet. Hehe. Ok thanks for advise!

Ps. Few pages ago another member had the same problem. Any updates?
*
Sorry, mis-read.... once i see the word WET everything else becums blur oredi... brows.gif brows.gif

If its the leg area, it could be one of the lower body weld joints not done accurately (well, even robots have their error margins) as the seat and top area is dry.

Let us know how the SC worked on yours... good experience to share but too bad it happened to you.. cry.gif cry.gif

Nope. I am happy with 16" rim. Like i said, this is family sedan, not vroom vroom car. Comfort is more important than handling...anyway, the default handling is already very good. And smaller rims usually translate to a slightly better FC.

Update:
Loan approved and signed liao. I nego with the bank to give me slightly lower interest rate, better than nothing mah....at least i syiok got more discount....like buying vege at market...haggle, haggle...haha. Downpayment paid. Now SA tries to get is ASAP for me. She said now need the do something at the Custom, needs a few days. Car is already available, chassis number recorded, but waiting for delivery from Tanjung Malim via trailer. She said got delivery everyday....the branch here can do 100+ cars per month!
*
LGT red is more expensive than Proton Plum Red, RM2800 vs RM1800... diff paint quality kot... go figure...

Check back here when you get the car... see how long u can keep it vroom vroom-less... I kept mine till past 1K service... cle got his raped to immediately after taken delivery... brows.gif brows.gif

The car need to be paid tax to custom, and cleared to leave the factory.... it will take 2-3 days for delivery, and you can chase the SA to do up the JPJ part while waiting delivery... else that will take 2-3 days (esp if JPJ computer system is down)...

After that, cum join us for TT...!!!

Tenno: I'd assume yr car is black?? There is another black Inspira (RahXePhon) went for SG and had same watermarks after rain... he went back to Mr Choong for consultation, i think they will repair it for him... I THINK...

Also when I was there for my SG, another black Sonata XF had the same problem too... i recalled that Mr Choong told he to reschedule a repair work, for free....

I dont have any share in SG, but am a happy client (mine is RED) as i simply wash with water and soap... and now it has drop to a frequency of once or twice a week (used to wash every day) as I stay in a condo, damn mafan to carry two buckets of water....!!

Overall, the acidic nature of our rain does leave stains on the car... and it does eat into the outer layer of wax, teflon or silica... but the main difference is that only wax can be re-applied...

I went the SG route as i needed an easier way out, i am simply too lazy to wash, let alone wash, clay, polish and wax, and my parking area dont make this any easier either...

Just be aware that no product out there is a miracle product that keeps the car shiny all the time, just that some does it better with some negative trade off somewhere...

I'd still say SG was worth it for me...

RahXePhon: maybe you can share your discussion on watermark with Mr Choong and his plan of rectification???

haha, my 2 cars already enough to keep me busy. But seriously, i think the "Cars" washer in some shoping mall parking, they are doing good job with reasonable price for members. You can consider that.
*
NOOOOOOOO...!!!!

Did u know they recycle the water in their buckets??? And some times in some outlet, they even simply use those water to WIPE your car, instead of using soap and wash...??

I work in a mall, i have seen it happen...!!!

Yeah, i really want to know...if SG works and REALLY CAN GET FREE REPAIR, then i am all for it.

Say Poadster, how often does the watermark grows?? You got yours fix for watermarks FOC also??
*
I was lucky to drive off in dry weather... and straight back home into covered car park.... the shine is still there after every wash... and no water mark...

Only pain I have is that fingerprints are easily caught on the SG layer... need to keep wiping em off.... cry.gif cry.gif

As adviced by SG Mr Choong, you should TRY not to let rain hit your car immediately after SG, but if it does, wipe it off as soon as you can after rains stops (means DONT let them dry and stain the SG layer)... also, you should maintain (aka wash) your car with water or mild soap as often as you can...

For me, for the first month after SG, i wipe the car after each rain session it gets under.... but now only wash once / twice per week... (getting lazy ma...)...

Luckily, the no watermark and the shine still there....

All these are based on my personal experience, and pls dont take it as a recommendation or endorsement of SG....

what, exactly, did matrix do to warrant a suspension?

i looked at the link he posted.. hmm nothing there, just countered a post with solid argument.

i look at what he posted here, nothing here either.

I agree.... and why is not the flame-baiter given the exact same amount of ban, he was just un-banned and he started yet another flame-bait...

Better yet, he even came in here and showed off that he had Sleepwalker by the balls and got Matrix banned....

So, if Matrix is banned for 3 days with effect from today at 3pm for responding to flame-bait, then why is not the flame-baiter given the same 3 days ban??

That is very impressive...

I can only get 500KM per full tank (when i am super light footed).... else its usually 420-450 only (paddle shift to 6000 rpm each gear)... blush.gif blush.gif

Now i got a question. I am hoping to go up Genting after 1K service. Since this car don't have '1','2' etc on the gearbox like my old Auto car...means i have to manually downshift the gears when going downhill to drag the car?

btw, the word 2.0 P at the back...the 'P' seems to be slanted a bit...is it normal??
*
The P is slanted....???? Donno coz mine not there too.... blush.gif blush.gif JK... yes, its in italics (aka slanted)...

For downhill braking, you can use paddle or stick shift.... but a word of caution...!!!

Do keep an eye on the RPM and dont let it wander into the MIVEC zone (arnd 4500 rpm) as the car will shift forward faster (instead of slowing it down)...!!! blink.gif blink.gif blink.gif

i just go for the 6k service they say inspira no need service at 6k come after 10k is this true???
*
Proton recommends 10K oil change intervals for Inspiras, despite using semi syn oil, dont ask me why...

You can send your car to outside SC to change the oil, but you should use back the same Mitsu oil filter (check the past few pages for pics by bro ckk125), so that the Proton SC dont void your warranty for outside service...

Or you can ask Proton to change the oil for you, at your own expense.... not sure if they will accept the 10K service voucher (if you have it) for 6K oil change...

Or you can simply change just change your oil filter and use the oil till 10K change...

Your choice...

what do you guys recommend, if lets say, car got some minor scratches, what product do i use to wipe them off? polish, wax? black car...some are very obvious...tks.
*
Sierra Glow or PPS.... rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

Light scratches can be removed with polish, but bear in mind that when you polish the part, you CAN induce and add more light scratches (due to the pressure and swirling of the cloth used)...

More obvious scratches can be reduced with Meguair's Scratch-X, but the same caveat above applies...

So be really gentle when you use polish, as most of them have microscopic glass cutter in the compound for "cutting" away the scratched layer....

For KNN filters, its 50,000 kms for wash + re-oil...
