Hi,
I'm currently in my last year of IGCSE O-levels. I am interested in taking up architecture as a profession and I am planning to do my architecture degree in Japan. I was wondering if you know about the architecture system and course in Japan and how it is different from the usual architecture degree in English (since the university courses in Japan are in Japanese). Appreciate any kind of help.
Thanks

Thanks for the replies . I'm still keeping my options open as it's still quite early for a decision. I really Japan a lot; it was actually the modern and ancient architecture of Japan that got me interested in architecture. But as mentioned, the cultural differences may cause me to feel unsettled. One more question : how is the architecture programme in Singapore? Thank you really much! Appreciate the help

hey guys,
thanks for all of the good advises given to me when i posted my questions. i've thought everything thru and i want to stay in malaysia to study architecture. i've heard about taylor's university's architecture course, but the course isn't recognised by PAM. so i was wondering, if i were to study at taylors university, when i graduate am i allowed to practice architecture in malaysia?

QUOTE(azarimy @ Nov 12 2011, 10:15 PM) u need to sit for the LAM part 1, 2 and eventually 3 in order to practice. going through recognized school means u can skip parts 1 and 2. but everybody will have to sit for part 3 eventually. on another note: i heard that there is a proposal to LAM to setup a new part 3 equivalent qualification, but for academics. meaning in order for u to teach architecture in malaysia, u gonna have to be certified with either LAM part 3, or the academics cert (i wanna call it 2.5 lol). interesting eh? I realised that all of the non-private unis are accredited while the private ones are not. So if someone wants to work as an architect in Malaysia and wants to get his/her qualifications as fast and as seamless as possible, then he/she will have to go to non-private unis?
