I've been looping Zia's theme non-stop since I completed the first playthrough. It's eerily addictive & at the same time, gave me a weird feeling of melancholy that I can't seem to shake off especially with the Restoration ending.

Remember the Plush Pyth you encounter in the game? Here's a refresher:

While there is no exactly a "correct" ending, I hope you chose the right one so that the plot will flow seamlessly when you start the New Game +. smile.gif

QUOTE(Angel of Deth @ Sep 3 2011, 02:08 AM)
How about the gameplay hours? And is this game have platform element like jumping etc.?
*
My first play-through took around 14 hours, perhaps due to me immersing myself with the beautiful art, great music & fantastic narration. I'm currently on my 2nd play-through.

And platform jumpings are kept to the minimum, not even half as frequent as you'll see in a Super Mario game.

You can try it out by downloading the demo here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/107100/

i've been wanting to download this game..but than hmm kinda edgy,,
is it really worth the 700mb plus?
if its really good i will download it smile.gif

I don't know how to reply you since your post is pretty ambiguous. Half of me would like to encourage you to get the game but another half told me that you intend to pirate it. sad.gif

Supergiant Games is a new company & to have 7 dedicated souls bringing us such an awesome game, I sincerely would like to support them as much as I can, with the hope that they'll be able to churn out another game as good as - if not better than - Bastion.

I flew away tongue.gif

I know choosing that other one will make the game more sense, but I'm not likely to play  New Game+ so I went straight to the other one. Maybe I'll start again after a few days just to see the portal easter egg.

They should have made the first ending compulsory in my opinion...

Speaking of easter eggs, i found this biggrin.gif

One reason is because I played it a bit too intensely. I kept humming zia's theme, and when i close my eyes i see....tiles floating up.

Kennot sleep mang.

Did you guys complete all the weapon challenges? I gave up on the hammer, shield, cannon and spear challenges.

Added on September 3, 2011, 7:22 pmI see everybody praising the narrator too. It's quite surprising to see that he's actually a really young guy.
*
Why are you foregoing New Game+? It's one of the features that is meant to increase the game's replayability value. And yeah, the new Special Attack is pretty beautiful where some white liquid got splattered all over the ground before a blue ring appeared & that certain white machinery pops out. rclxm9.gif

Initially I thought that Zia's theme is the only nice song but after listening to the ending them (Setting Sail Coming Home) a couple times, I grew attached to it so much.

For the Proving Grounds, yup, completed them in all my play-throughs. smile.gif

Usually once I finish a game, that's it. Usually lah, but the narrator's voice kept calling me back....

Yatzee said he has chocolate for lungs. I agree.

You....you're not human for completing all of the challenges @_@ How did you do that

My favourite section of the game is the Jawson Bog by the way. The mindscrew is fun.
*
But but... I'm not sure if it's just me but in the past I don't mind throwing a game away once I completed them since they were pirated. But now that I've switched to original game, I can't help squeezing out all the lil' juice it has until they're totally dry. biggrin.gif While I agree that the Narrator is the one of the attraction, not everyone seem to think so. Some of them think that his voice is a nuisance. rclxub.gif

For the challenges, if you're interested, let me know which one & I can share my method.

The dream actually scared me the first time it occurred since I was pretty much limbo'ing. sweat.gif

First experience is usually the best. After that sometimes tak syok lagi because you know what's going to happen.

I checked the youtubes for those challenges actually, but i suppose my reflexes in the end are not sharp enough to tackle it. Like the hammer challenge. HNGGG always fall off the ledge or didn't smash fast enough.

And the shield, always not careful enough and get hit >_<

I guess there will always be someone out there who doesn't like something. I really like Rucks, he sets the setting real good
*
To be honest, most of the Proving Grounds will be easier in New Game+ since your weapons would have been upgraded by then. smile.gif

i love this game. Just got it a couple hour ago. I dunno which level im at right now. Already build three building at my Utopia. Forge, Distiller and Arsenal

Above all i fcking love the narrator!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just hate when i try all three weapon test challenges i dont get the first prize reward, always get the second place.. so sad T.T
*
Don't worry, you'll just have to try again. I can assure that it's _NOT_ impossible to get first prize in all the Proving Grounds on your first play-through. smile.gif Perhaps if you find it too time-consuming, you can try again later when you've upgraded your weapons a bit. smile.gif

On the other hand, I've finally managed to get all the achievements unlocked WOO HOO! rclxm9.gif

Now, it's time to get my dinner at 3.23am. doh.gif

Hmm... but that still doesn't explain what the Outhouse & Mailbox do. Supergiant Games is keeping mum on them too. hmm.gif

What are those?

A minor correction in bold there. sweat.gif

Those are 2 of the structures in Bastion that you can interact with but don't seem to play any role. Kinda weird to have them around.

Does this game utilise Steamworks?

Saw it on Green Man Gaming for a 20% off sale.

I can't be 100% sure but I think it's not. GamersGate is selling it DRM-free but if I were to check the Steam Store's Bastion, it has a lot of Steamworks features enabled. rclxub.gif

Erm... this might be a lil' spoiler but there's a place in the game where you can play all the songs. Perhaps that will help you in finalizing your decision?

I think there is no better time to hold this promotion since the hype has kinda died down, though I must say that it was a pretty good run right from the day the game was released. smile.gif

Is playing this game easier on a gamepad or the mouse and keyboard combo?
*
I've read a lot of reviews on how gamepad helped a lot on the coordination but being a keyboard+mouse user myself, I don't see any issue at all. In fact, the developer has made an extra effort by releasing a patch which re-aligned the Kid's movement on keyboard. smile.gif

QUOTE(LostWanderer @ Nov 2 2011, 10:53 PM)
i find that the game moves pretty slow...as in the hero walking from one point to another feels a little slow...maybe i played too much dungeon defenders...lulz...XD
*
Too slow? Then activate all the 10 shrines & you'll feel slow no more. biggrin.gif

so char move slow is because of speed upgrade restriction eh...lol
*
Nope... what I was trying to say is that you're gonna appreciate the current speed when you activated all 10 shrines later since things are going to get even more hectic.

One thing you can try though; use the Space Bar a lot more. That should make things a lil' bit faster for you.

How long is the game?
*
My first playthrough took more than 10 hours IIRC. If you're not farming for the weapon levels & stopping by once in a while to marvel at the fabulous artwork, then a few hours should suffice. I don't want to reveal too much so I'll just say that the game requires more than a single playthrough.
