Bought it in HLK seri petaling for 2.8k only. Inclusive deliver exclusive Hdmi. I think the price is reasonable. Plus they have a shop.

I saw an entry level 42in plasma 42UT30 that has 3D function. It seems like the U series with added 3D function. Price at HarveryNorman was RM3799. I believe 1 3D glass was provided.

Just got myself the P42U30K. Like it but it can be maddeningly reflective!

Anyway, how safe is it to watch 2.40:1 anamorphic films with black bars on top and below?

either adjust the settings in your BD Player or use the TV "Aspect" to adjust the ratio

Having owned a panasonic plasma (2008 v series model) - can say it's pretty safe after about 3 months of usage (watching a mix of 1.78, 4:3 and 2.40:1 films).. and after watching 2.40:1 movies, there is usually some image retention (visible in a dark room with the tv switched ON with blank display) that lasts at the very most half an hour which is gone when a full screen image is displayed thereafter (changing to a static noise tv channel helps).

Just got the gt20 plasma recently, IR seems to vanish very quickly compared to the 2008 model i had (within seconds)..

I've been looking for Operating Manual (PDF/SoftCopy) for 50U30 all over the internet but couldn't find it.

What is the 50U30 equivalent in US/Europe market that I can refer?

I haven't buy the TV yet. Just wanna browse thru the manual.

for those who are looking for 3d tv, if possible, why not wait for a while for the bare eye 3d tv (3d without glasses)? toshiba already have it and i believe the rest will follow through.. maybe there will be some fire sales on the current 3d tv as well.
