I'm on a thrash metal binge or rather, Slayer. Been listening to lots of Slayer especially after watching their Rock Am Ring performance where they completely destroyed the crowd.
All hail Dave Lombardo! |

SEPULTURA's official web site has been updated with a video file featuring the group's guitarist, Andreas Kisser, talking (in Portuguese) about the concept and artwork of the band's new album. The clip features a full brand new song playing in the background.
SEPULTURA's 11th full-length album, tentatively titled entitled "Dante XXI", is being recorded at Trama Studios in São Paulo, Brazil for an early 2006 release via SPV Records. The group had previously used Trama Studios to record the "Revolusongs" EP, which contained cover versions of songs from such acts as MASSIVE ATTACK to HELLHAMMER to JANE'S ADDICTION, and was included in the limited-edition digipack version of 2003's "Roorback". Working under the watchful eye of producer Andre Moraes (with whom they've previously worked on various Brazilian film soundtracks), SEPULTURA's follow-up to "Roorback" will be "like a metal soundtrack for a movie, based on 'The Divine Comedy', but making a parallel with the days and situations we live today," says Kisser. The ten or eleven songs that will make it to the finished album are all based on the epic poetic masterpiece "The Divine Comedy" written by Italian author Dante Alighieri in the early 14th Century. The three main components of "The Divine Comedy" are Dante's descriptions of Hell, Purgatory and Paradise. In addition to the 10 tracks that are set to appear on "Dante XXI", SEPULTURA are recording two cover songs - JUDAS PRIEST's "Screaming for Vengeance" and SICK OF IT ALL's "Scratching the Surface" - which will be released as single b-sides in the future. 10mb clip: http://www1.uol.com.br/sepultura/site_vide..._recording3.wmv source: http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/ |

Ah, anyone still remember Micheal Schenker of UFO, MSG and Scorpion? During his tenure in Scorpion, their music is tend to be hard and heavy (and no sappy love tunes). His guitar solo is amazing.

news for all u Rammstein fans here, the band has been nominated for 2 European MTV Awards for Best German Act and Best Video (Keine Lust), vote for them here, the site is in German though
This is the cover for the new album 'Rosenrot' : ![]() Korn has new single out on iTunes titled Twisted Transistor from their upcoming album titled 'See You On The Other Side', wonder if they still have their staying power after some mediocre albums and the departure of a guitarist to seek God Source Nickelback's upcoming album features a track that has a previously unheard guitar solo from the late Dimebag Darrell : QUOTE NICKELBACK's track "Side of a Bullet", which features a previously unheard guitar solo from late PANTERA and DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, has been posted online at VH1.com. "Side of a Bullet", which was written by NICKELBACK frontman Chad Kroeger as a tribute to his fallen friend, comes off NICKELBACK's upcoming album, "All the Right Reasons", due on October 4 via Roadrunner Records. Kroeger initially wanted Abbott's brother, PANTERA and DAMAGEPLAN drummer Vinnie Paul, to play drums on the track, but Paul didn't think he could improve on NICKELBACK drummer Daniel Adair's take. Kroeger told Launch that Paul put another idea in motion instead. "Darrell's wife, Rita, got in touch with us and just started sending us all this stuff, like, him playing so many different solos, and we pieced this solo together and it fits the song so well," Chad said. "And it's kind of spooky to be singing about him, you know, your friend who's gone, and then have him play this shredding, amazing guitar solo." Kroeger roars in the song's chorus: "How could you take his life away (What made you think you had the right?)/ How could you be so full of hate (To take away somebody's life?)/ When I heard you let him die and leave the world, I wondered why/ I sat and home and on my own, I cried alone and scratched your name in the side of a bullet." "Side of a Bullet" was written three months after Abbott was shot to death by a disturbed gunman during a December 8, 2004 DAMAGEPLAN concert in Columbus, Ohio. Kroeger told Launch how he felt when he heard about Abbott's death and how he's dealt with it since. "I was very, very upset and really angry," he said. "I couldn't understand why somebody would do that. I stay in touch, I call Vinnie and just try and keep his mind off of things. It's nice to let him know that he could just call you up and talk about anything - it doesn't have to be about Darrell - and just be there for him." After 13 years, Celtic Frost are going to be releasing a nwe album 'Dark Matter Manifest' Source Regarding the Roadrunner all-star session, another song has been made online here. QUOTE Another track from the upcoming ROADRUNNER UNITED "The All-Star Sessions" CD, entitled "In the Fire", has been made available for streaming at Roadrun.com. Written and produced by Heafy, "In the Fire" features King Diamond (KING DIAMOND, MERCYFUL FATE) on vocals, Mike D'Antonio (KILLSWITCH ENGAGE) on bass, Dave Chavarri (ILL NINO) on drums, and Heafy on lead, rhythm and acoustic guitars. Anybody heard the new Santana album yet ? 1 track features Kirk Hammet on it (instrumental track-Trinity). You can hear the track here And in an unrelated news to metal music but to a band, Tripp Eisen (Dope,ex-Static-X) has pleaded guilty to having sex with a minor (14-yr gal) & is going to prison for 1 year QUOTE former STATIC-X and DOPE guitarist Tripp Eisen has pled guilty to having oral sex with a minor and will serve one year in California State prison on that charge. On June 24 Eisen accepted a plea bargain in California for "having oral sex with a person younger than fourteen years old and more than ten years younger than him," stemming from a February arrest, according to Orange County Superior Court manager Gai Spickard. A date for his incarceration has yet to be set. At the time of his arrest, the guitarist posted $100,000 bail and fled the state - only to be discovered when arrested for another sex-related offense, in New Jersey, just two weeks later. On October 7, Eisen, born Tod Rex Salvador, will face another series of sex-related charges when arraigned before a trial judge in New Jersey. EisenWinnie Comfort. A local woman claimed that her fourteen-year-old daughter had sex with Eisen, who was posing as his own impersonator, leading to the guitarist's indictment by a grand jury in June on charges of kidnapping, sexual assault, enticing a minor and endangering the welfare of a child.
