anybody here knew the local metal zine 'Vortex from the East'. It was run by a guy by the name of AJIS from OKR back in the 90's... Anybody knew what happen to this guy and his zine...???

underground scene at my place lacked of extreme musics, the veterans play more to progressive and power metal, like those of Iron Maiden etc....

kids just play Nirvana, and all the emo emo ....so boring

but during my school days last time, we had a lot of grindcore and death metal bands... not anymore though

i remember went to metal gig in kuching...most of them playing grind... like napalm death... with stupid song title like "ku cinta dirimu" but when they play... cant even understand a single word....hehehhehe

the only metal gig i went in kuching...huhuh... what i notice there, teen prefer stuff like green day n emo...i was the only dude in my class(maybe school) listening to dream theater at that time....huhuhu 

WINTERSUNBegin recording new album
Singer Jari Mäenpää has posted a message on the bands official homepage and told fans, that the band has already entered the studios and started the recordings for the new album "Time". During the first studio session the band will be recording only the drums, rhythm guitars and bass. Vocals, solos and synths/samples will be recorded at Jari's home 'studio'/rehearsal place during the summer. The mixing will take place in the fall and the release is scheduled for the end of this year.
"Seven epic songs and quite long ones, over 65 minutes of material. It's a theme album. The music has some new dimensions, but has also the recognizable 'WINTERSUN style.' So hopefully you will stay patient, the wait will be worth it!" says Jari.

New Guitarist Has NOT Been Confirmed
"Hi there! Something unexpected happened... I got sick as a dog when we arrived and performed our first festival for this summer among the fjords in Norway with 40 degrees of fever. (...) Back home from the festival I had to go straight to the hospital from the airport and they made me stay the night. They found a virus value of 130 in my blood (the value is normally below 8, in a normal condition...). I really don´t know what kind of virus that was, but I tell you it was pure hell. ...
I´m on the heaviest possible medication right now and I´m starting to feel good enough to pick up the guitar and write some shit.. Let me also clarify some things about the guitarist situation. I know that some of you people have seen on some website that we have confirmed Daniel Antonsson as the new guitarist of Soilwork. It´s true that he´s been touring with us and we like him very much both as a human and as a player but we have NOT confirmed his spot in Soilwork. We have decided to go slow with this and really take our time before we make any decisions. We´ll keep you updated on that story, nobody else."

HAMMERFALL guitarist Oscar Dronjak has posted the following message on his official blog: "We have once again spent three days in the rehearsal room, playing through the now nine songs finished for the album. I can't remember feeling this good about the material before a recording, ever. Especially not for the last album, then I was very unsure about how things would turn out. This time, the feeling is the complete opposite.

Songtitles set to appear on the CD include "Dark Wings, Dark Words", "Carved In Stone", "Titan", "Shadow Empire", "Threshold" and "Rebel Inside".
