QUOTE(kibs @ May 25 2011, 10:59 PM) every 20k km? huh...i had a friend driving the older saga version 7yrs no change spark plug. still stock apparently. Old school of thought in car care esp spark plugs, chk them, if still looks good & no misfiring, then clean them & put them back! Still ok wan! Haha!Later cars need only change every 8k-10k km. Now 20k km? And Iridium ones 100k km? Nxt gen? Like lifespan of car? Haha! That's technology for yu!!! ![]() ![]() UPDATE : Pics to show ... 1. Ori aircon filter mesh unit - poorer coarser mesh quality in my FL than in previous BLM pics! 2. Flap/cover of front of filter box opened - pls see clip end on LEFT; not on right as in older BLMs! ps. Hope pics help FL owners replace their ori aircon filters with better quality filters for cleaner air... Added on May 26, 2011, 4:37 pm QUOTE(SAMHOW @ May 26 2011, 11:59 AM) Hi bro! Kinda feel petrol that we get in Msia is VERY dependent on the particular Service Station where one fills up AND NOT whether it is Shell, EssoMobil, BHP, Petronas, Caltex or whatever....
True? That's why we get so many different responses from ppl using the same brand cos they got from diff sources!! Sad but true, rite? |

Anyone bought branded engine oils from Tesco? Recently lots of promo offer...great price difference from normal retail prices! Both fully-syn & semi-syn.
Worth buying? Any fears? |

QUOTE(MR_alien @ May 27 2011) erm...how to say this Somehow alwaz got funny feeling & find it hard 2believe prices cld b so much different la. Like ppl like 2say...kinda too good 2b true?if u just use it for 5k thn change it...i think is ok cuz many members here say that those that are sold in tesco...mostly is lower grade oil although it's the same brand selling outside meaning same brand, same grade but lower quality oil which is why it is cheap the 2nd reason tesco can sell so cheap is also becuz they got it cheap they got those oil from other places like europe i think and some say if u open the cap..u would notice there is no seal inside so....overall is ok...worth buying...for semi synthetic but use 5k thn better change Safe, huh? Ya lo, we normally do oil change @5k km intervals. TQ 4yr views! Enlightening... Added on May 27, 2011, 10:25 pm QUOTE(MR_alien @ May 27 2011, 09:49 PM) ....the engine bay looks just the same...lol...who knew it's 1.6L inside So if we get the 1.6 badge & stick it onto same location, then we can fool others into thinking we're driving a 1.6 FL!!! With FOC Oil Filter, yu saved RM12+ oledi! However, last 3 items like "sapu" yu oledi cos not necessary items! So another case of win-win situation here!btw is this a good oil for our fl? Syntium 800 SM 10W/40 thankss Re Syntium 800 SM 10W/40, most SCs using it. So shld b gud enuf. Most BLMers seem 2find it suitable. If go by car manual, then shld be .../50 grade oil. QUOTE(ericmaxman @ May 29 2011, 06:15 PM) Hi...Wat hv yu done to yr ride that we shld see? Pic kinda dark la... Added on May 29, 2011, 6:55 pmFr previous posts, it appears that past BLMs got lotsa similar prob namely IAFM making noise so engine sounds kinda diesel-like engine! One wld hv thought that such a widespread prob wld hv been fixed eons ago!! It shld probly hv necessitated a nationwide recall...wld hv put Proton in better light by so doing!! As is, Proton's Campro engine has not & is not thought of being reliable nor problem-free! Wat is happening now is that such complaints being voiced so frequently in the Net, is putting FEAR into potential buyers that those who can afford a bit more $$$, wld go for another make! True?
