even my modified vitara, rm50 ron95 can go about 250km bro
*
when i check, the light was blinking @ 292km.

before that, i filled in 32 litres of Shell RON95.

Now, filled in 26 litres of Petronas RON95. weird that it dropped so fast..maybe Rm50 not enough?

pumped Rm50 ROn95 @ petronas.

drove 50+ km dropped one bar. and i was gentle.. wtf

Your first bar can go 50KM consider good edi. Mine only 30++KM. There are 6 bars there. Avg 50KM per bar is 300KM total, but I think you can easily get more than that. If you do you should be hitting easily above 10km/l. OK lar.

Anyways, remember. If you want to measure FC, always pump full tank and measure from there.

Well, like I said. If you really want to measure your FC, you should pump full tank. Not round numbers like RM50

You can't expect to get accurate and repeatable results if every time your starting point and ending point is different. It's like shifting goal posts.

Vomit bro, vomittttttt....pump the fuel until vomit, thats call 'full tank', else dun talk about how many mileage per bar anymore.

My full tank 1st bar can give me 100-120km. Highway even reach 140km.

Not ur car problem, is your problem to refuel inconsistent, understand now?

For your case, manual, you should be aiming for an avg of 53 - 55KM per bar, and refuel around RM51 - RM55 for a full tank. That should get you around 11 - 12++KM/l. Obviously the more the better. These are estimates for you to keep track while you are work in progress (in between refills). The finalized figure should always be based on the full tank vs mileage method i outlined previously.

Added on March 8, 2011, 5:19 pmAnd yes, coolkwc is right. Full tank means pump until the petrol pump auto stops. If really push until vomit, kiss your black paint job bye bye. tongue.gif laugh.gif

i think my fault for stating the distance with a benchmark with ringgit
my full tank is rm62 RON95 (the fuel pump auto stop)
it can travel somewhere around 250-300km, 90kmh average speed
smile.gif
of course my car is not a proton saga

the reason why im posting is because my dad is going to get one new light local car for my sis
budget is below 45k
looks like proton may be a bad idea

why is it that a 1.3 engine in a very light car consumes a lot of fuel (i'd understand if its the rotary)

Everytime I pump further after the pump auto stop until the fuel can't pump in even 1ml... laugh.gif i can see the fuel at the hole, no kidding. tongue.gif

Urm .. not sure ....

1) RM62 = 32.63 liters, even 300km/32.63 liters = 9.19 km/l
That's not very good, bearing in mind it's at 90kph avg. What car you driving? I'm guessing sports car or big SUV. Traffic jam all the time?

2) Why do you think it's a bad idea?

3) Coolkwc has a very good question regarding car weight. You might be surprised by the answer.

im driving a modded suv
car curb weight is somewhere around 1.4-1.5 tonnes (dunno the current weight with the current engine)
engine is 1800cc with single turbo (ca18det fitted with a t28/25)
no oxygen sensor and ecu yet to be remapped
yeah, 1litre/9km is not very good
but the previous engine was worse
haha

according to wiki the curb weight for saga is 1.0+ tonnes
thats a very light car - more than a lotus or the 1st generation suzuki swift

i dunno if its a really bad idea but i've been reading all these negative perspectives over the long term prospects of owning a saga blm/fl
please enlighten me why its not a bad idea?

Because auto stop mechanism is little bit cacat one, sometimes stop too early. So in order to record very accurate result, i did that. laugh.gif

If you're very concerned over FC, get a viva or myvi. Both are lighter than the saga, and eats less fuel. But dont complain over the bad handling lah. laugh.gif

Proton's campro is a very bare basic engine with almost no technology in it. It feels rough and powerless. But i'm not complaining, even though it comes with flaws here and there, I get a bigger boot (I often travel), nicer ride and better cruising feel on the highway compared to a myvi.

I always believe if u want to get good FC out of any car, it depends on how you control your right foot and changing gears at the right time. icon_rolleyes.gif

Bad idea if Saga is RM80k. But now this car is from RM38k~43k.

Proton is not famous of their FC, this is undeniable, even last gen with Mitsu engine also not so good in FC.

Campro is high rev engine, below 3k is torqueless, but at this speed is crucial since alot of city travel, start stop traffic are around this speed, so even 100kg more heavier the FC is suffer for this small engine.

For new car <45k with good FC you only can get 1 car, Perodua Viva, but how is the handling? body stiffness? Cabin size? Aircon? After I close Viva's door I won't ever think again about this car.

Since you compare to Suzuki Swift, how much you need to spend for it? is RM30k more bro. RM30k for even mad RM3.00/L RON95 and assume Swift no need fuel to run, i can refuel my Saga 6.5 years (avg 180+L/month fuel usage).

About my question just now, my answer is Wira<BLM=VIOS for weight, and do remember BLM and VIOS is in same B segment small sedan, different 40k.

But you choose yourself la, BLM is suitable for ppl who want new car with low price such as fresh grad, but since is for your sis, i think should go for small hatch, this car not suit girl one especially reverse. tongue.gif
