1. did u install any app after u purchase this?
2. is your phone ori or AP?
3. when do u usually experience the above?
4. maybe you would like to do a factory reset, to see phone still have issues

yes it's normal. you can use ur phone to boil water and cook egg.

fren, it is normal and if i am right if happens on all samsung phones. it's not a bug or faulty.

IMO, 2 reasons why samsung did this:

(a) don't wanna scare the user when the phone rings all of a sudden - take it as increasing ring tone mode

(b) usually, this low-> high volume is good for the speaker. same as ur amplifier-speaker at home, you don't place ur amp at highest level as this will spoil/burst your speakers. you slowly increase the volume

sometimes i feel strange why u guys want to use custom ROM. the ori 2.2 OS installed in the SL is already OK.

as long the custom ROM does not do this: "fix 1 issue but another 2 issues pop up"

I've got SL for 3 weeks. Love it.

Last night, I tried Galaxy Plus at Seng Heng. Hmmm, speed is really good After u clear the cache and then access to keypad or phonebook - super fast

i got some kind of a problem like this.

I called M'sia Samsung Customer service for 2.3 OS. She told there is NO specific date when the OS will be out. That's all I can share.

BTW, what's after 2.3? I know 3.0 is for Tablets? No?

So, 2.3 is the last update for all android phones?

in malaysia context: cendol, ABC, rojak,

had SL for 1 mth. so far so good except the battery a bit "shot"-crazy.

sometimes when battery on standby overnight, it drain 20%

and sometimes only 3-5%

i kill all tasks and clear RAM before sleeping in all occasions.

how can this be?

i do experience when charge not 100%, this thing happen, ok need to investigate more

confirm - NO WIFI and data transmission as i've got no data plan

people says close app, close wifi.....etc

most people would have done that.

i have experienced this before, all apps closed...etc but sometimes it drained a lot of %.

my suspect:
1. smartphone...usually got this issue - have to live with this
2. the area where u place your phone might have weak signal or coverage not strong, hence, phone keeps on working
3. even u kill all running apps, there are still mini apps running at the b/ground
4. when charge battery, charge 100% then unplug, try not to charge up to 50% and then unplug

later, i will put into flight mode to solve item 2, to see whther it works

when i plug to a mp3 player (eg: philips, sony or even china brand) and set the volume half, people beside me also can hear

if u turn off ur phone and charge, then it will take foreover cos sometimes, it will not tell it's full----sometimes i said

but if u turn on phone, it will indicate it's full

answer 3 hrs

b4 i sleep, i place my phone in flight mode - tried once ONLY.
check the battery % the next day, no drop at all

sometimes where u place ur phone is crucial, cos phone always working whether it's 2G or 3G

for those who do not want to be disturbed at night set to flight mode...saves battery too...of course kill apps and turn off Wifi..etc

google a bit lar..but here is the answer.

in ur external SD card (if u have), create a folder call Media, then create a folder call Audio, then create 3 folders: alarms, notifications, ringtones

got it?

Media->Audio->alarms
Media->Audio->notifications
Media->Audio->ringtones

then dump ur mp3 there

from there u r able to select ur likings

policy? go for the warranty.

fren, i believe that thing is just a earphone, it is not a headset = mic + ear phone.

no wonder ur caller cannot hear u, unless u place the phone next to ur mouth and not in the pocket
