let's say ur phone goes KO on 2nd or 3rd year, u need to take out another RM12 to renew ur membership (even if u did not renew in 2nd year)

but sen heng are smart....usually, if ur phone goes KO, it will KO within the 1st year, secondly, most people will use their phone for 1 year ++

so sen heng earns RM12 extra for everyphone sold

if u buy RM2K+ phone then worth it to join membership, esle buy from outside - RM1130

hello, i thot 2.3 OS is already out - officially? no?

i'm new to android - so if i upgrade to 2.3 via Internet (Wifi) OR Kies - is it the same output/result i will get?

in SS2 phone shops, the SL price went back up from RM1150 to RM1180.

hello, when u turn off ur phone and get it charged....and after complete/fully charge (eg 3 hrs) u press the home button to check the status. it doesn't show 100% fully charged.

Wait for maybe 1-2 mins, u go back and press the home button, then only it shows 100% full

is it because the phone or OS need time to update the battery status? or phone got issue?

i am talking when the phone is OFF and then u go and charge

other thing I found - there is a OS2.2 bug.

1. I copied contacts from SIM to Phone
2. I edit the contact number on phone
3. i go to keypad (Smart Dial) to look for the person BUT it still shows the old contact number

to over come this, I need to delete the contact and make a new one, then only OK

BTW, the Smart Dial seach contact in both phone and SIM, cos I see 2 X Mr.Y appears

I miss the Profile Settings where u can select: Normal, Meeting, Outdoor, Silent.....can configure individual tones for diff. profile. Any idea any Apps for this?

(1) I am waiting for the official OS2.3, is there an easier way to upgrade the SL?
(a) Kies - install with errors, so i uninstalled it
(b) Odin - saw snapshots on the net - too technical and looks dangerous
© i tried Software Update using Wifi in Phone setting - "Cannot connet to Server"

so, what is the ideal way?

note: my phone is not rooted and do not intend to do so. now waiting for offical OS 2.3

so, can any sifu here pls answer - will be very grateful

step 1: check the serial number (imei) on the phone and on the box
step 2: u should have the SME warranty card (size of a name card)

it's not a MMS in the first place.

ya, i selected Samsung Kies

maybe a question for u, have tried hooking up ur SL to PC and use Kies? able to transfer files and check for firmware updates?

Q2: can use WIFI to d/load?
Q3: OS2.3.4 are there many versions? and i am not talking diff version for diff countries, cos in those leak or custom ROM there are many weird versions for a single OS2.3

my question is - the SL f/w XXKPE, is it official GB?

I know need to download online and cannot upgrade via Kies as Kies is not working for most of the people.

To me it's not official cos people d/loading always says "hope this is stable" ie. wifi issue, camera cannot work properly..etc

how can u say it's official in korea and then later says it's not official (by stating"and it will be reognized by kies as a KOREAN GB")???

it is NOT even an official ROM in Korea. If it is then it will not be buggy.

thanks for ur reply. the problem is half of the people owing a samsung phone, they cannot connect thru kies. i am one of them. been trying here and there but with no luck and gave up. i google and found so many people stuck at kies.

i know the official takes time but having to upgrade every now and then over unofficial ROM is just a waste of time for me.

i will wait for Kies since others are not official and are buggy as stated by people using it.

the only PROBLEM is phone cannot connect to Kies (ANY IDEA, ANYONE?) Not sure what samsung is doing. they are quite poor in s/w.

FINALLY, manage to get KIES working. for those who cannot get their phone connected to KIES:

1. go to control panel and remove/uninstall any old samsung PC studio
2. also uninstall any samsung driver.....related
3. uninstall and reinstall Kies
4. after install Kies, there is a new update/patch from samsung
5. once done, this shld work
