Myeongdong is right in the heart of Seoul. No sure any other Myeondong other than Seoul. I stayed stone throw away in between Myeondong & Namdaemun.. Every morning will be at Namdaemun & every nite at Myeondong haha

Communication yes abit difficult but certain area such as Myeondong & even hotels, the receptionist & Sale girls are able to speak mandarin. Well, if you use hokkien (or lesser mandarin) to speak to those Korean sellers, they can understand abit as well bcos lotsa similar sounding hokkien words in Korean..such as their counting system for eg..for payment ..let say 12,000 won..they pronouned it

However on Korean won, they are not the cheapest. From my survey, you can get atleast RM2.83 if you change ~ Ikano, Atria, & Bkt bintang area.

BTW, Market rate as per Bank Negara latest is at RM2.78. http://www.bnm.gov.my/statistics/exchangerates.php it's impossible getting this rate. Wth RM2.83 as the best benchmark Today, If you convert to US$ 1st & thereafter to Korean won, you will be getting slighty better at RM2.80-2.81 at Seoul..well..just a small token haha
