All cosmestic there are produced in S. Korea so all duty free lor haha

The largest consentration of cosmestic outlet for sure MyeongDong lor..so many repeated outlets of skin food, elianto, dunno what republic & ect there..every corners of Myeongdong. Mandarin is not a problem here. Every outlets, sure having chinese salesgirls wan.

I stayed ~ 200M away from both MyeongDong, Namdaemun & namsan park cable car...i.e Namsan Park Hotel - Every breakfast I walked to Namdaemun, Every nite I wash my eye at Myeongdong haha - price ~ Rm145/nite.

If you stay in betwen this two areas or even either the 2 areas, Everyday you can shop there.

Well, Namdaemun is something like our pasar pagi/pasar malam or even you can call it Petaling st lor, everything there inclusive of clothes, souvenirs, food, daily essential, and wet market.

Myeongdong is Nite Market - can be also like Petaling st too combining street stalls, restaurants, pubs & also side shops - Those shops mostly cosmestic..repetitive similar stores everywhere haha..

Dondaemun - Mostly Fashion & cloth market esp on the other side of Cheongyecheong stream after Dota dept stor. Super long massive 2-3 storeys plaza of clothing & fashion.

Insadong - Souvenirs - but abit pricey than Namdaemun 9Can skip)

Yes everyone in the family need T-money but for those small children <3yr old, you can "hand carried" mah biggrin.gif so those can skip the card.

Each usage within certain KM radious probably ~ 1 to 8 stations away, only 900won. And for nxt level of destination ~ 1200won (correct me if I'm wrong)..So for shorter distance, yes hiring a cab will be cheaper but for far end distance - MRT still better.

oooo ...itu mcm ka..

another question to ask, since i am going to korea in a big group, 9 persons (5 adults + 4 kids, 2 family mine and my sister), do we need the T-money card for every single of us? is it worth to use 2 taxi to move around or just stick to MRT?

planned to bring strollers as well for the kids

By train from Cheongyangin train station above the same MRT station. Thereafter from Gaypyeong staion, just take any taxi to the island.

Can-lah. The reason why ppl rent pnone bcos can call back cheaper & also using it as walkie talkie in Korea incase one member lost. Cheaper that way. We can't use their SIM card there.

Can roam-lah as I explained earlier. Just check wth digi for promotional rate. Normally I use skype incase I want to call back when I'm in oversea. No need to buy SIM card or rent phone. You only need to be in free wifi enable area...The best, the hotel you stay

Call back M'sia the code is +6 follow by the number for eg +6012-33446655 or +603-51548888

Huh? all my digi & Maxis lines can roam there wor..no problem of receiving calls.. I'm not sure on calling out bcos i only used skype hmm.gif
QUOTE(zstan @ May 8 2011, 11:36 PM)
No roaming lar for GSM phones. Koreans all using CDMA.

Our lines technically cannot be used there that's why people are renting phones.

Even if you wanna use blackberry, you have to go to your operator (Maxis/Digi) and ask them to activate roaming for you. Same case for Japan i think.

Added on May 8, 2011, 11:38 pm

Last time no sim card one, only when iphone was launched then only they provide GSM lines.

power of apple.  biggrin.gif

All phones from M'sia can roam lah but you just can't use their SIM Card (if any) Their phones are on diff platform as mentioned by zstan. So you can use your own phone for roaming purpose and probably call out too (?). However, to use their system, you need to buy or rent their phone as they are having diff system.

I'm using 1 Nokia & 2 SE phones there smile.gif But dun really used it except skpye. I already bought US$10 credit since ~2007..still left US$6 after years..haha biggrin.gif
