To those who went to Everland, did you guys go to the Carribean Bay as well? If yes, how was it?

If I were to go to both Everland and Carribean Bay (spending whole day there), will there be enough time to enjoy most of the attractions?
*
Carribean Bay was closed when I was there sad.gif I went on a weekday to Everland early November, quite a large crowd, I guess most of the time will be spent for queuing for rides.. laugh.gif

Even 8°C with strong wind, a simple jacket will do. It was 8°C coupled with strong wind which made it really cold when i was in Taipei in early January this year but a jacket was more than enough  smile.gif

yah..just make sure the jacket don't 'masuk angin' laugh.gif

BTW, how much do u rent the car??? Do we need international driving license?

Added on December 12, 2011, 2:48 pmFrom the information I get from KTO, Ski Resort only open during winter. But we can still go therelah but cannot overnite at the resort.
*
I believe that guy's attitude same towards any guest..haha. The hostel workers I met at Seoul were super friendly and helpful..haha

I rent from Avis korea..mine was forte about RM 240 for 2 days.. RM 60 of it was insurance so its only RM 180. Kia Morning will be the cheapest. Gasoline is expensive though..haha, 19xx won per liter.. I refilled about 45k won of gasoline..haha.
You need apply intl driving license for RM 150..valid 1 year.

u can try check avis korea or kumho rent website..

Wow, that's quite cheap. I think we better rent a car. For 4 people (me and my sisters. All small bonzai size.  tongue.gif ) what type of car do u recommend?
*
up to your budget i guess..haha. there are many to choose from, sonata, forte, veloster , sm3 (samsung renault car) biggrin.gif Since u stay in jeju hiking inn, means u will be driving acroos mt hallasan...hilly road but very nice view

Hi guys,
Im going Seoul next January [10th-18th] and it was very long time since my last visit January last year backpacking alone and this time im going with my sister and her son, abit excited coz im not alone, lol.  biggrin.gif
So, i'd like to ask some question for those who've been to Seoul.  icon_question.gif
1. How long is recommended for sightseeing + activities + take photos in Nami Island and Sancheoneo Ice Festival? Is it possible to go both places in a day since i noticed its quite near and its in the same Gyeongchun Line.
2. How long we suppose to spend time at Everland? Is there any shows at night like Disneyland HK where it have fireworks. [I dont want to regret leaving Everland early if theres any show at night]
3. Last year i've been to Vivaldi Ski Resort and im planning to go to different Ski Resort this year and intend to stay one night. Is there any Ski Resort with hostel or motel or budget hotel and how much is it per night? [If can dont too far from Seoul, dont want waste time traveling in a bus]
4. Is there anyone actually go to Station TV such as KBS | MBC | SBS or any Entertainment Company? Haha, hoping to meet celebrities.  brows.gif [I was told by friend who studying in Seoul we can actually go to Station TV for tour] If anyone know or been there, please share. Or is there any specific places where high chances to meet the celebrities?  blink.gif
Thanks in Advance.

re question 4, not sure about station tv tour, i think have cuz when i was queueing for M! countdown a bunch of ppl were there but dunno where they come from..haha. can read my blog here for some guide tongue.gif http://craprants.blogspot.com/2011/11/mnet...ence-guide.html

yah the woman guard very strict..lucky SNSD was the last... the Myname group was really close to us when we were queuing outside the studio..they wanted to take the lift down. Interestingly, not many of the ppl recognize who they are..lol. Their fan group not enter the studio yet that time..still oustide in the cold..ahaha.

yup..after waiting so long just for SNSD since I dun even know most of those who perform earlier..lol. I felt really tired and kinda lost the mood.. laugh.gif

Myname is too new. Guess that's the reason. Bet it would be very different if it were some very popular and well-established group such as 2PM, SuJu, DBSK or even Infinite. Infinite really has become so freaking popular this year  rclxms.gif

Anyway, too bad you got kicked out just before your favorite group performs. I guess we all have to learn from those really pro ones who always manage to record the entire performance discreetly and without getting caught. There are so many such videos (fancams) in Youtube  sweat.gif
*
haha..i still manage to watch 2 min of their performance..and soo yong since she was the guest MC...look so much like a doll. laugh.gif

Hi all, will be arrive in Incheon at around 10pm on January 9th. Was thinking of taking a room at Incheon for the night, then going to Seoul early in the morning. Is that better? I'm afraid it might be a bit of a hassle and troublesome to get to Seoul so late at night..

Also, how many days should I stay at Jeju Island? Where can I book good recommended places to stay there?

Thanks for any feedback smile.gif
*
i think subway ends at 11pm if i am not wrong..haha. taxi from airport to city will cost a bomb though i guess...

as for jeju, i not recommend jeju hiking inn cuz of the rude workers and old place..but is very cheap though and you can have single room..

Im refering to tour guide in jeju. Seoul will be traveling/exploring by ourselves. =) Mostly in jeju we travel via bus? or there is other means of transport? thanks!~
*
QUOTE(ashcrimson @ Jan 3 2012, 02:05 AM)
which hotel u stay in junggu? most probably u r using the green line? just take the subway to gimpo

the best way to explore cheju is by car. and since it's cold, get a convertible brows.gif
*
not sure where is junggu..hehe.

as mention by ashcrimson, drivingin jeju is definitely best way to travel around the island..the drive by the coast would be so nice with the view smile.gif
unless u interest in those 'olle walk' basically a series of walking routes for the very fit people..haha.

car rental not really that expensive if u have 2-3 person to share. also depends on what car you are getting.

Then I have to buy Tmoney, and topup
Wait for my sister to arrive

I have Papago gps, but dont have Korea map  doh.gif
*
1.5k?? wah expensive ooh.. as i know foreigners can't buy prepaid sim card in korea..need korean ID..other option is to rent a phone smile.gif

QUOTE(stimix @ Jan 5 2012, 03:20 PM)
Korea maps really problematic wan.. No Garmin, Papago & even Nokiamaps pun tarak. Only googlemaps. You can rent iphone 4 from Incheon airport for those wanting Korean googlemaps. I hv no idea how realible is the googlamaps Korea. or they can speak English..

well i tried download before as i had htc locations on my phone similiar to google maps. but everything in korean..so its useless. doh.gif

QUOTE(ashcrimson @ Jan 5 2012, 05:16 PM)
this is one reason why i always encourage people to go to places which are near to subways. got map in the station, easy to understand.

this applies to seoul, pusan and daegu only. other places... hahaha i got no idea

yah..i always look at the map of the subway station before heading out.. biggrin.gif

Do we nid to apply international licence? i read before in this thread said nid. But my aunt said our licence can use outside msia too coz they wen europe n drove around. Anyone can clarify this?

junggu sumwhere near myeongdong area. Isit far to go to gimpo airport? =)
Thanks!~
*
1) u can reserve online actually, no need pay anything. or u can also book when you reach jeju airport. but i think reserve online will be cheaper since they say they give discount when u register online, not sure if they give the same if u book at the airport. try google avis korea/ kumho rent. car rental depends on ur choice lor..my forte was RM 180 for 2 days..

2) apply the international license at JPJ for RM 150 valid 1 year. make sure u bring your passport photos and other documents. you will get the license on that day, just a 15mins process if not many ppl. biggrin.gif

3) as i know, the GPS can be used by just keying the phone number of your destinations. i think u can try ask the rental car ppl to teach u first how to use it.
