NTFS I think is quite proprietary to Windows. Most gadgets these days like iPod, PS3, iPad etc I believe still stick to FAT32. Unless there is another open format of NTFS? hmm.gif

I may be wrong but I thought the 10 minute limitation is to prevent the sensor from overheating.
If you have the motor on the body, you can use AF-S (with built-in motor) and the older AF (without motor) lenses. There's still quite a lot of the older AF lenses that you can use but nowadays, Nikon has updated most of their lenses to AF-S type.
Nope. Usually the built-in Nikon batteries are very reliable. Bring charger and charge it overnight. Anyway, are you expecting to take more than 550 photos in one day of your vacation? 550 photos is a lot. If yes, than buy a second battery. You also need to factor in the times you take video on the D3100. It would use up more battery of course.

oic, ya 10minutes is to prevent the sensor from overheating but that are the thing I not too sure their said use class 2, class 4 and class 6 (believe is the memory card class can support for D3100)

Sorry I totally newbie one this, you means D3100 body is build in motor AF(Automatic Focus) and the lens is does not have any motor? As I know normally the lens with motor, please advise >_<"

Thanks

Actually is the other way round. D3100 body itself doesn't have an AF motor. So you need to buy a lens with an AF motor built-in to get the AF capability.

D3100 don't have Auto Focus motor on camera body. You should read my reply to you right under your post !
D3100 rely on camera lens to focus.

To all sifus,

I am planning to get a Nikon D31000 for taking amulet photo. Is a 50mm Macro lens sufficient to do the job? What would be the recommended lens to get?

memory card class difference is d write speed, meaning how fast a file can b RECORDED/COPIED/WRITTEN into d memory card
this may affect video recording if d card cant record fast enuf, d video recording may stop b4 d 10min limit is reached

D3100 DONT HAVE in-built AF motor in its body, so u nid use lenses WITH motor in order to have AF

Ops, miss out your post. By default the body does not have AF so when want zoom it need manually to focus, correct? For AF need depend on the lens if the lens have the AF(Automatic Focus) function, right? biggrin.gif

wat u mean by zoom it? sweat.gif

if use lenses WITHOUT motor on D3100, NO autofocus
if use lenses WITH motor on D3100, GOT autofocus

Autofocus has got nothing to do with zoom

Hehe... last time I showed my friend a video which I started with an OOF frame and gradually become in focus.

My friend commented: Fuyoo!! I love the "zoom" effect. Like in a movie. sweat.gif
