If u can afford a bit more, try to find a Sigma 70-200 OS HSM(around 4k plus, got VR somemore)..I found that 80-200 colour is dull and not as sharp as the Sigma  laugh.gif
*
Sigma new lenses(85 1.4, 17-50 2.8 OS, 70-200 OS) are awesome! thumbup.gif

i already choose my dslr (D3100) i just wanted to choose which lens is perfect for landscape or potrait..
so i can buy with my dslr...

jz get d kitlens 18-55 1st, its good in everything but not best in anything

QUOTE(Irfan2397 @ Mar 6 2011, 07:07 PM)
Any good lens to capture wedding ,as I am noob in dslr just bougjt mine D3100 last week,My budget is about 1k,Is it 55-300 mm ok?or 20-250 mm?and is it worth buying 50mm cz lens for RM 280?
*
wat kind of shots u want that ur kitlens cant take in wedding?
do u need tele lens for wedding? then get 55-300, but be warned for poor low light performance, unless u get 70-200 f/2.8 which costs 6k+
do u need 50mm? or u jz considering cos its cheap? but be warned to be frustrated by manual focus
might as well get an external flash which is considered to be a definite must have for wedding

Don't know how to say lah but typical malay wedding shot ,I think portraiture or group potrait

Added on March 6, 2011, 10:47 pm
As the wedding is a typical malay wedding do I still need flash?and about the 50 mm is it worth it for 200 coz it cz lens, btw with 20-200mm what can I do with it
*
i recommend flash cos it has universal usage which helps whichever lens u r using, its useful oso even outdoor during daytime smile.gif
as for 50mm, if u r shooting group portrait or couple portrait where they r going to pose nicely for u, then manual focus wont b a problem, but for candid shots u may miss some good moments
20-200 will b useful as all-in-1 lens, u can take group pics with wide angle n zoom in for candid moments oso

ur choice nod.gif

QUOTE(dyth @ Mar 7 2011, 12:16 PM)
oic, ya 10minutes is to prevent the sensor from overheating but that are the thing I not too sure their said use class 2, class 4 and class 6 (believe is the memory card class can support for D3100)

Sorry I totally newbie one this, you means D3100 body is build in motor AF(Automatic Focus) and the lens is does not have any motor? As I know normally the lens with motor, please advise >_<"

Thanks
*
memory card class difference is d write speed, meaning how fast a file can b RECORDED/COPIED/WRITTEN into d memory card
this may affect video recording if d card cant record fast enuf, d video recording may stop b4 d 10min limit is reached

D3100 DONT HAVE in-built AF motor in its body, so u nid use lenses WITH motor in order to have AF

To all sifus,

I am planning to get a Nikon D31000 for taking amulet photo. Is a 50mm Macro lens sufficient to do the job? What would be the recommended lens to get?

nikon got 50mm macro lens? blink.gif

QUOTE(dyth @ Mar 7 2011, 12:42 PM)
Ops, miss out your post. By default the body does not have AF so when want zoom it need manually to focus, correct? For AF need depend on the lens if the lens have the AF(Automatic Focus) function, right?  biggrin.gif
*
wat u mean by zoom it? sweat.gif

if use lenses WITHOUT motor on D3100, NO autofocus
if use lenses WITH motor on D3100, GOT autofocus

Autofocus has got nothing to do with zoom

Finally, I bought my D7K Kit on Sat and I'm officially a Nikonian now biggrin.gif

Next item, I need to get myself a bag by this week and my max budget RM400 >. Preferring a sling one that can easily shove in and shove out the camera. Any recommendation please? smile.gif

I got nothing now except the kit lens. Will be looking forward to use the bag with an additional lens and flash unit in the future smile.gif

Crumpler 7 MDH : http://shashinki.com/shop/crumpler-million...nts-p-5152.html

RM455, exceeds my budget and kinda too big for me leh at the moment with my tiny toon gears sweat.gif

Maybe Crumpler 5 or 6 MDH will do fine, any recommended shop to get it?

Besides Crumpler, any recommendation from other brands? unsure.gif

Mine was shot wide open @ 1.4, It might not be as sharp as the G lens but it's definitely sharp for my eyes

QUOTE(celciuz @ Mar 13 2011, 06:07 PM)
Somehow the photo doesn't appear sharp to me at least. Or maybe handshake? I don't know, what was your shutter like?

D700
I would consider something like this as sharp,

This is of course not the Nikkor 50mm, but I recalled the 50G doing better than that.
*
5 possible reasons:
1) using f/2.0 instead of f/2.8 when i jz bought it
2) D5000 AF limitation (using corner AF points)
3) that time i haven calibrate lens
4) Photobucket compressed d images
5) my hand or my eyes problem tongue.gif
