Did you install custom recovery? If not... Run Rom manager and install it... if done... perform ROM backup/nandroid backup then flash your rom...

menu->setting->accounts & sync->google->select sync contacts ?

is this how to sync contacts (backup contacts) ?

i've select sync contacts ady, but i check my gmail ... the contacts still empty ...

Assuming you added your contacts via "People" to your "Phone" (Stored in phone).

1) Menu > Import/Export > Export from "Phone" to SDCard

2) Menu > Delete > delete all

3) Menu > Import/Export > Import from SDCard > in the "To Which location? Google / Phone", choose Google. Then go to Syncing options to sync the contact. It'll be uploaded to Google Contacts (Can be checked via googles.com/contacts)

If it fails to sync, go to manage application and "Clear Data" for contacts.. or something similar, I forgot. Later I check.. busy with last minute assignment now

Your original contact is from sim..? If true... import it first...

yup, follow what TS posted above.. that's mandatory, a part to flash rom. (sorry i forgot about that)

what rom you use now..? you need framework-res.apk from the rom that you currently use.. copy framework-res.apk to paste on your PC.

UPDATE: UOT Kitchen is under maintainance right now..

i've done till step 3 ... when i check google.com/contact ... my contacts are not there

now my contact only showing "Phone" ... i've hide others contacts (Google, Facebook, SIM)

Have you sync-ed it up? Does it sync successfully? The best way is still clearing the data in "Contacts Storage" (Manage Apps > All > Contacts Storage > Clear Data). MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AT LEAST BACKED UP TO SD CARD, JUST IN CASE!

After than re-import to your google account via People, then sync, supposely job's done. At least for me tho

my contacts is showing up now, i guess it takes a few minutes for it to sync ... i'm too anxious i guess

so now i have my contacts backup at google, if let's say i've flash ROM, how to import back my contacts back to my phone?

Glad it working for you... After flash... Setup your google account... and it will auto sync it back...

since i've also export my contacts to SD Card, i also can import back my contacts from SD card right?

that's new based (Gingerbread) rom, still BETA version and i don't know whether cook using UOT can flash into that rom or not.. sorry..

haiii.... on dilemma want to flash Gingerbread rom or not.. as for now LeeDroid v2.2.2 rom served me well..~ but i miss new Sense 2.1 features.. maybe wait a few more days to check on Lee's rom update..

After flash I just entered my Google Account details. All my contacts appeared after sync, nothing to do

Yes, you can import it from SD Card as well. But once your contact's at Google Cloud, it's easier already. Unless there's some weird error and somehow you're perfectionist.. haha. I had a weird issue (I guess it's not only me since one other forummer mentiond that it happened to him as well), and it bothers me badly (Even though it only happen on "Editting Mode")

Guys, is 1 hour 1% drop with WiFi on, Auto-sync on (I think) on Idle Mode (Screen off) normal or kinda drain?
