My ps3 slim is having issue with heat. I suspect that its cause by the faulty logic board but is there any other factor that might contribute to it? A faulty fan, PSU?

Ooo before anyone ask, the console is place in an open area and the fan/air vent is clean from time to time.

could be anything. send back to sony for repairs.

Guys, I don't understand the FAQ a little. I have a monitor with DVI input, so I will get the HDMI-DVI cable, and get a 2.1 speaker for the sound. But, how do I transmit the sound? The DVI doesn't transmit sound right? And PS3 doesn't have audio out jack? Anybody help?

Or anybody can recommend me the cheapest LCD with built in speaker and HDMI input? That would be the best.

firstly is ur lcd monitor support hdcp? what model?

ps3 can output video thru hdmi to dvi

for sound, it can output thru multi-av port > need a splitter > 2.1 speaker green input jack

do you have a ps3 in the first place? multi-av cable is a standard cable bundled with the console...(red, white and yellow)

you can check at XMB settings.... yes it can use simultaneously with hdmi cable... no worries

afaik all HDMI monitor will have audio OUT put port since HDMI carries AV. If u are using the monitor for PC / PS3..better get a monitor with audio IN / OUT..eg : dell monitor
