if you are asking about the SSM/USM in lenses, then YES,they are faster & more quiet than screw driven lenses. For SAM,I feel the AF speed is same or sometimes lower than screw-driven Sometimes depends on the lens also,my tamron 17-50 f2.8 is much faster than SAL1870
Hmm. You comparing the 1750 with the 1870? You mean the 1870 no motor in lens?
doesnt matter anyway since all alpha bodies are screw drive lens compatible... there's no big issue about it.. unlike Nikon's entry level bodies, which only support lenses with in-lens motor
True true.

u didnt know meh? thats why 1870 always gear stripped.
@hiansitt , gjtan , 8tvt : Yup Trade in my A200 + SAL 18-70 actually not consider trade in as well, the shop owner call a buyer (i think from another shop) and come have a look, that buyer offer me directly Rm750... shop name: Mega Star @ Penang Road, Georgetown
@lwliam: sifu, can explain more about the MF 8mm FE that you mention? i got Samyang 8mm FE as well, still trying to learn on the MF tinggie..
@Newbiee: hehe Thanks thanks.. now i join u alrdy ..
Ohhh. a200 + 1870. I thought a200 only.
So fast got FE. Good good! Get ready for more poison.
Newbieeeeee: You could spot meter on the flowers and do a +1 EV - colors would look loads better.
Try buzzing around the flower like a bee until you find an angle you feel is 'magical' and has 'feel'.
You can use Focus Check Live View on your A580 - solves the problem of getting precise focus. That said the DOF is so big that you don't have to be exact!
Motor in lens versus motor in body, depends on the lens and focal length, and the gear ratios of the lens. There are slow and noisy focusing lenses with internal motors as well as fast and quiet screw-driven lenses.
Alright. Thanks!

otherwise... flare control...centre to corner sharpeness.. CA control..distortion... cz2470 would most likely to excel in these areas(especially when wide open) compared to the minolta..anyway just guessing only i've never touched the 2875 before.
I see. Because theres this guy in the garage sales selling it for Rm1350. The CZ2470 is Rm5000 yo.
Newbieeeeee: The Tamron 90mm F2.8 has a MFD of 29cm with a working distance of 11cm, and the Tamron 60mm F2.0 has a MFD of 23cm with a working distance of 10cm.
That makes me prefer the 60mm because it is brighter - but it is APS-C only. Notice that it's the APS-C version of the Tamron 90mm F2.8 which was meant for FF.
Note that the Tamrons have a short working distance compared to OEM lenses in a similiar range (Google them.)
Hmmm.. I haven't seen anyone selling the sp60 before. Is the sp90 suitable for portrait shots? Should be alright right? if get the sp90, 50mmf1.8 would be useless?
newbieeeeee: sp60 is quite a new macro lens. supposedly i won 1 but then they gave me nikon mount, when i request for a change, they don have a-mount in malaysia. sp90 can b used as a portrait lens n macro lens, my 2 cents as i use it for both of this. 50mm on apsc would be better for portrait shooting, sp90 is a little tight for portrait on apsc to me.
