Can you test if your ringtones really work? I mean test using the ringtone selection screen.

Also, do check under Sound settings if your ring, notification volumes are set correctly. Worse comes to worst, you can try wiping caches or do a factory reset.

to do factory reset, go to Piracy > Factory Data Reset? is that true?
must do both wipe caches & factory reset?

Can you tell me which firmware you are running now?

The wipe procedure is detailed on the first post of this discussion thread - lots of info there for noobs - http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=40364828, under 'How can I reset my phone?'

Momax 2700mAh battery report - left charger at 9am (100%). Still have 80% left at 3:30pm. Approximate utilization of 20% in 6 hours, or about 3.4% per hour.

Any recommendations on battery monitoring/logging utility that I can use to get more 'scientific' battery usage data?

Searched wikipedia and found this:

T-Mobile released a version of the phone called the Samsung Vibrant (SGH-T959) on July 15, 2010,[33] making it the third Android 2.x phone officially supported on the T-Mobile network (after the Nexus One and MyTouch 3G Slide). The SGH-T959 Vibrant supports T-Mobile's 3G UMTS bands of 1700MHz and 2100MHz, but additionally supports 1900MHz, making it compatible with AT&T where the 1900MHz frequency is used (the Vibrant does not support AT&T's other 3G band, 850MHz). This variant also lacks a front-facing camera.

Sorry to say that I don't like it. Too bulky. One of the reason I bought SGS is its dimension. Slimmmmm... tongue.gif

No need to say sorry to me. Some people prefer form over function while others the reverse.

I noob question, I'm on prepaid without any 3G data.so if I buy vibrant, do I have to go 3G all the way?and do you think this phone will get 2.3 gingerbread update?it's using corning gorilla screen right?

Dunno, buddy. Maybe someone else can answer your questions - I have never really paid much attention to the US variants of the Galaxy S since I use the international version.

Holy cow! Sweethoney 2.7 is not bad! Non-overclocked with just ext2-all filesystem and I am getting 16xx-17xx quadrant scores. I know quadrant cannot be relied on, but it's a good basic gauge of performance.

These custom ROM developers are really a committed lot. They make Samsung looks like a lame duck in updating. Or maybe this is Samsung strategy, release a beta ROM and let these developers help kill the bugs, then take their efforts and release the stable version... brows.gif
Just my opinion.... tongue.gif

Well, Samsung probably is focusing more on the upcoming products' software than the SGS so maybe that's one reason why they are slower than the mod community.

Never needed to do that in any browser before. Pray tell why do you need this feature?
