While I have not touch the old school shaver for a while, the cartridge system from Gillette Mach 3 onward is such a breeze to use... its a pleasant and satisfying shave every time. I usually shave once a week although I should do it every 2-3 days.

With the Gillette shaving gel ready and a running hot tap, it works wonder to prep the face. The towel with wet with hot water wrapping the face for a brief moment, really warm up the skin and open up pores for the shave. Wipe dry and then the gel, and proceed to shave.

The Fusion 5 blades is way too expensive and can't justify the result per $... Mach 3 is best ROI and result.

Once done, I used the cheapo Brut Aftershave...for that cooling down and closing up the pores and to sooth the skin which essentially being scrapped... LOL! I'm so glad that can still find them after so many decades...

And the result is smooth, nick free shave... and the lingering brut after shave gives off a refreshing feel...

Why did u move away from DE to cartridge system?
I find DE giving me a closer shave than than Mach 3 or fusion. I have to agree DE requires more time and blades are a lot cheaper than cartridge system
This may provide the same adv as cartridge system, start up cost on the high side

I think it have to do with the technology improvement I guess... yes Cartridge is expensive but some how DE give a more nick and cuts as it is sharper on DE and also fixed DE head.

Then again, Mach 3 is cheap enough and you can use it shave other part of body with ease... thumbup.gif
