All vintage Gillettes prior to WWII were of brass construction with gold, silver, or nickel plating which is why many have survived and is a testament to brass' durability.
During WWII, some razors were constructed of zinc alloy/zamak as the war effort lead to brass shotages. Zinc alloy razors will deteriorate and crumble once its protective plating is damaged.
The all brass Fatip Grande, Piccolo, and Testina Gentile razors can be had for around US$20.

That US$30 razor is a Rockwell 2C not the 6C. It comes with only a single baseplate. WCS' shipping is outrageous. They charge US$20 to ship a $30 razor.
