Ok.

Anyone here using void ROM and has a stable, highly overclockable kernel to recommend?

Also I would like to ask, when upgrading/updating the kernel, will all app data and phone settings remain unaffected?
*
it won't affect any setting and app data
after changing the kernel, u need to wipe the dalvik cache

So it is like 2 steps, flashing the kernel, then wiping the dalvik (which won't do anything to the apps and config)?

wow.. what u guys talkingabout? kernels, dalvik, nandroids? rclxub.gif

part of rooting I guess? sounds scary... laugh.gif

oh ya, whenever we update the apps that we have in the market, like angry bird for example, the size of the 'update app' is like 5~6MBs. So, when we click on update, does it adds more into our phone memory? Like in this case, installed app consumes 5MB and the updated app will consumes another 5MB which means, the total consumed memory is 10MB. Is this correct?

oh really? it just update and not adding more memory eh?

I have quite a few apps needed update but didnt bother updating since I think that they might eat up my internal memory which is now running 32MB.. sweat.gif

I guess I need to remove some apps. Unused apps. hmm.gif

this thread is alive since there are still users of this phone. icon_rolleyes.gif

Yup...
but this is the things u can do after getting rooted...
for using custom rom and so on
but it does not mean u must do this in order to get the phone rooted

basically it won't, it only just replace the file when it gets updated...

u can also download 1Tap Cleaner to clear up the cache, which can free up a few mb up to 10-20mb like that
and move all apps that are movable to the sd card to save more space
