My iPhone 4 Home button is also unresponsive occasionally. I'd have to press several times or very hard to get a response. Anyway I won't claim warranty from Maxis until the problem gets very bad. Most of the time the Home button works fine so the problem is very hard to reproduce.

QUOTE(syedakmal @ Mar 21 2011, 07:03 PM) why don u just go claim warranty bro. Maybe I will. But I still need to find a Micro-SIM adapter to use in my ordinary SIM phones.

QUOTE(MyKy44 @ Mar 24 2011, 07:47 AM) doesn't seem easy though, looks like gotta remove a lot of parts to get there. The comments on this article are interesting: iPhone Help: Fixing an Unresponsive Home Button. Several comments say that you can try fixing the problem by pressing hard on the screen near the left/top-left of the Home button. That may be where the Home button flex is located. QUOTE(deepan84 @ Mar 28 2011, 12:01 AM) i have to press mine on d bottom right hand corner of the button. d most unresponsive part is top left. its almost unresponsive 95% of the time on that top left corner. Just want to clarify that I meant pressing the screen near the button. 2cm top-left from the Home button.

This morning my iPhone 4 Home button started acting wonky again. Apply pressure and massaged as shown in the picture below and it triggered the unlock screen even though I didn't actually press the Home button. After that the Home button started responding again. Although the massage technique I suggested works for me and some of you, it's not a permanent solution. I'm quite disappointed with Apple's QA.

Try intentionally breaking the Home button to claim warranty. By the way, my Home button has been behaving surprisingly well for the past few days. I'm not sure if it's because I've changed the way I press the button. Previously I just pressed one part of the button with my thumb or finger tip. Now I cover the whole button with my thumb and press gently.

The Maxis @ Gardens seem more easier to deal with. They don't need 100% failure rate. They didn't even check properly. Just say send in anytime.
But for now seems to be working so won't send in.

Home button emulation software? Would that would require jailbreaking?

Very very common with iPhone 4, because they modified the design.

Funny enough my Home button no longer has any problems. May be because I changed the way I press it. I cover the whole button with avthumb and press it evenly and not just at one corner. Been about 2 months without problem.
