hye guys,

my wife and I is a newly married couple and we decided to plan our family for some reasons. I appreciate if you guys can share the best practice for us to plan our family.

I know condom is an obvious choice of all, but I do sometime want to have unprotected sex, provided that she take morning after pill. is it okay to do so? is the pill is really reliable if we taking it within 24 hours after?

You are in the wrong thread. Go see a gynae with your wife to get advice on family planning.

ECP is called EMERGENCY for a reason, it's not a good choice for family planning.
Get her on the pill (birth control pill) or get a patch or IUD or implanon or other hormone injections. There are many other forms of family planning other than the condom.

me and my boyfriend we have an unprotected sex and i have taken Postinor 2 few hours after that.

Here's some detail, i have my period on 4th April, and we have sex on 9th april, and i've taken the pills. Then 17 april i have bleeding similar with my period, lasting for 3 days. And today already 17 may, but my period still hasn't come. I noticed symptoms as increase appetite, and feeling cramp on the lower abdomen, similar as before when I had my period before. We still didn't take pregnancy test yet and we will do soon. What would you say guys, please help us.

U should have taken the pill right after sex, as the chances of prevention decreases as time goes by. Nothing much u can do now except to wait for ur next period

Thanks for reply, ya I am taken pill after 8 hour sex. just worry the chances of geeting pregnant and how effective of the pill?? Anybody can share the same experience like me.

No one will know as nothing gives 100% success rate for prevention. The pill is most effective when taken right after intercourse and it's effectiveness decreases as time goes by. Usually after taking ECP, the person will experience blood flow a week after but that also depends on individuals. All you can do is to wait for till ur next period.

Just take it easy and wait it out. Feedbacks from others might create more unnecessary worry or might give u temporary relief either way as every individual body reacts differently.

Until now no blood flow, I felt some pain at abdomen whole day during taken the pill that day and then ok after that. What is the symptoms if ECP effective to reduce pregnant? After taken ECP, will my period come earlier or on time or late?

It's not even a week. There are no clear signs of it being effective except having ur period. On whether it will come earlier, on time or later it also depends on the individual, up to 3 weeks latest. For ur case if u usually have timely period then latest will be 2 weeks from the date u took the pill.

normally they are pretty effective as long as its taken within the correct window. she will have messed up her periodic table so to say. and her dizziness is possibly just a side effect. read the little paper thingie. good luck.

If ur period is five days late, time to get urself checked. As said, different ppl. Reacts differently. It's the same as postinor, some will have period flow a week after and some 2 weeks after eating the pill. Which is still within the period cycle.

Although I have taken pill, may I know what is the % not to get pregnant based on my condition as above? May I know the figure range?

It's quite effective.

However, the more you stress yourself out, the more messed up your hormones will be.
The faster your hormones gets back to normal the better. So just chill and get pregnancy test kits to test about 2-3 weeks from now.

Although have sex during ovulation time and taken pill after 8 hours, the ECP consider effective compare to not under ovulation time?
