QUOTE(newbie_trader @ Feb 24 2011, 10:18 AM) Anyone knows how does share split get accounted into the KLCI index? Let's say a blue chip share price gets adjusted to 10 points lower, assuming everything else unchanged, will the index open at 10 points lower? Bonus issue and Share split does not matter on the index, as the market cap remains unchanged, only more shares issued and price/earnings gets diluted. Waste of shareholder's money. Split share resulted lower share price won't result in lower KLCI. KLCI calculation is based on market cap. Share split won't affect the company market cap at all. 1 billion shares x RM10 = 2 billion shares x RM5

No..........the share reference price will automatic adjust before trading start. This post has been edited by StupidGuyPlayComp: Feb 24 2011, 10:23 AM

Different counter have different influence to the index. The influence is affected by the price.. This post has been edited by Bonescythe: Feb 24 2011, 10:28 AM

QUOTE(lch78 @ Feb 24 2011, 10:09 AM) I don't know how legit is this information. My friend from the banking sector says the bank SRR going to increase comes this 11-March. So be careful if you intend to buy banking stocks now. the idea of SRR is a bit overhyped. it's not very much of a big deal. thing with BNM is they're trying to China style by upping the SRR instead of rates for the same reasons, but imo, there's no harm increasing rates at all in msia (as compared to China) from an economics POV unless there is political pressure/resistance.
