also to add, rm3.50 tiles assumingly for 1x2 tiles will most probably b grade B. but it's fine tho, as it is not necessary for grade A @ porch

QUOTE(scouser7 @ Oct 31 2011, 02:54 PM) I hope there are homogeneous tiles or lappato/rough/stoned surface that is within the RM2.50 price range. Txs again guys. Havent asked where the contractor gonna get the tiles but from what i read, contractors do get some discount when buying tiles directly. yes, but 2x2 for rm2.50? it doesnt even seem possible. even a 'reputable' grade B tile is around rm7-8. AFAIK, cheapest tile would be polished and white/cream tone. other surfaces = more expensive. guess lady luck is on ur side |

QUOTE(mrPOTATO @ Nov 24 2011, 11:35 AM) Sifu2, need some advice b4 i confirm wit my kontraktor. rate is around rm3-4/psf for 1x1 tiles, rm4-6 for 2x2 tiles..so u can just multiply the area needed to be tile. In tiling, usually the 'window' area is included. doesnt sound fair rite? just give and take.Want to renovate my wet kitchen 11'x5'. - Lay tiles on my wet kitchen walls 5' high - one wall got big window, another wall 1/2 of it is window too. Now the walls are cement only. - Also hack & lay new floor tiles. He quote me lump sum 2,000 for workmanship. Is it reasonable ? (As i also ask him to do concrete kitchentop, he is already charging me 1,100). |

so my living area tiles came popping out after 10yr. (known issue of cost cutting sub con job) . of all time during EMCO, had to bear with it while removing broken/tilted tiles by myself.
Juz had an indon worker came to have a look on it. better to redo the whole hall. according to him, the 'old' glue mixture need to be chiseled out first and then new cement layer will be poured over before any tiling job. area is around 500sq ft, a)can estimate of cost for this job? excluding tile and installing tile job b)any reliable online website to check estimate pricing of tile? c) i did ask if i opt for SPC flooring, the 'old' glue still need to be removed then only new cement layering job can be done. correct? so in a way, prep cost for tile and SPC is the same.. thank you ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by kucingfight: Aug 7 2021, 12:13 PM |

QUOTE(mini orchard @ Aug 7 2021, 04:29 PM) The labour now should be average 3 to 5 psf. Budget 1 : 1. thank you for your fast response.Your existing tiles 2x2 is about 10+ per pc. If promo, can buy less than 10. China brands many promo in tile shops. Always remove old and lay new but do understand it can never be everything. Workers will remove as much possible. from your reply, meaning labour of removing old tile, hacking, apply new cement, installing tile is around Rm 3-5psf (2x)? thank you This post has been edited by kucingfight: Aug 8 2021, 03:57 PM |

I was thinking of another option of doing spc flooring. Is it possible to juz remove the tiles and do cement layer leveling ( without hacking off the old glue)? Will it bond or cause other problems in future?
