If you like touchscreen, maybe Nokia X6 8GB could be your choice. 5MP Carl Zeiss lens and Capacitive touchscreen like the iphone touchscreen type.

For GPS definitely get Android, for web surfing also must Android.

For models,

Samsung Galaxy SL rm1600, 4" screen useful for GPS and surfing

HTC Incredible S rm1999 or Digi contract rm1449- has front cam, back cam has flash = useful, 4" screen useful for GPS and surfing

Currently this two are value for money, just my humble opinion

if can get incredible S can forget bout liquid metal, much smaller screen, ram & proc power...

captivate/vibrant has super amoled & lower price[captivate around 1.42k vibrant has lower than that due to no videocall camera & AP]
& galaxy SL got a weaker GPU & chipset so perform slightly slower than SGS[even captivate/vibrant], thats y cheaper ..

htc sense ui or gorilla glass+touchwiz UI [or even + super amoled but no videocall cam]

instead of galaxy SL
can get the original galaxy S since u got the budget

in malaysia, our SGSL is 4gb version
if u get SGS, u get super amoled[superior than SLCD], 8gb/16gb built in
got 2.2 oso

& galaxy SL got a weaker GPU & chipset so perform slightly slower than SGS, thats y cheaper

as for gps, install papago on ur phone

galaxy 5, but dun hav built in document viewer, nid go apps store to buy..
can try out Google Docs and see if it’s an acceptable alternative..

if u no mind the small size & outdate OS[android 2.1], can get SE x10 mini then u no nid buy doc viewer, it got built in

as for androids gps, its usually built in with google maps which is not pretty good, u can opt to pay & install papago from dealers/shop

if symbian, u got free gps as well[nokia ovi maps ma]
nokia c5-03...but PDF viewer are not supported [unless u pay]

not bad design but i don't think i need the symbianOS + the facebook, etc features at all. very old school user here

It is just a very basic smartphone only. I also did not use the facebook feature inside it. handphone is only meant for sms, calling and other light stuff. This one is good for old school people who have very little interest for the application and websurfing.
