Well, that is something you cannot do with Nokia C5-00.

I suggest you look into the prepaid online options first before making a decision.

Hmm, i guess it should not be a problem. But i suggest you to test this out since i do not use the Android phones yet.

loh..i think all symbian have ovi store and sycn function..even my 6680 can...c5 cant?

oh, but great explanation quantum, no need internet data also can use ovi map? im sold! can it detect any address or just rough location?

I have a few application running in the background in my Nokia 5800 and no major lagging for me. However, before i go to surf web, i turn all of them off coz even that sometime Opera still state that low or no memory stuff.

You can use it without the data usage, but it takes about 5 minutes at least to lock the your position. This is not good when your dad need to start driving with no sense of direction and usually it takes more 5 minutes to lock if GPS is not activated.

I usually point the location i wanna go after searching, then I poke my screen, select "drive to" then I am on my way.

It runs on Symbian OS, i guess using the Opera should not be a problem. However, pdf reader might not be free as far as i am concern. I guess you should ask the C5-03 owners here:

3. i want gps (those i can use without extra charges when i use it, cos i dont wanna subscribe to any data plan)

I have the Nokia C7 too. Very slim design. Everything same like N8 just the camera not so good.

or is there any other brand I can choose from?

u can use other brands as well like iphone or android. But the best currently is garmin and its available for Nokia symbian ^3 devices. I can practically trust my gps to bring me to my destination without road signs.

depending on the software u install.

Symbian ^3 is backward compatible means any apps or games older version it can install. If u do get a Nokia phone u can always pm me to assist u on installation. Its very simple i can teach u online or treat me coffee can do it for u like 5mins.

wow.. means most of the smartphones can use gps for free. its just depending on the type of gps software installed?

Correct it depends on the software. GPS is free service in the world. Just the software might have make it cost.
