bro, have u change oxygen sensor b4 on latest model vios?
recently my car rpm not stable when idling, then rpm goes down and engine vibrate due to low rpm and then turn off by if self.

i send to SC and they say need to replace front oxygen sensor and quote me rm650. The engine light doesn't on, all are normal at the dash panel.

my car already out of warranty.

i call outside accessory shop cost rm400 only.

can you tell me better buy from SC or outside accessory shop?
*
unless you are a regular on the accessory shop, i would recommend the SC.

cheaper goods replacement just ain't cheaper in the long run...trust me...once bitten twice shy...

PS3 is VERY quiet, i'm using it.
best set of tires ever... thumbup.gif

XM2 is a no-no blush.gif
a simple google search will explain why... unsure.gif

If i want to go for comfort + performance, other than PS3 what will be other option?
RE002 vs PS3? RE002 damn expensive 380 selling at Penang.
*
don't think i can comment on that since i only tried Goodyear/Falken/Michelin blush.gif

when i was researching for my tires replacement, RE002 turned up good as well, but those are really some expensive donuts.
was able to get my PS3's at 280/pc.

bro, your tyres what size and where you bought? i'm surverying PS3 195/55R15 cos going to change in a few months time
*
i was quoted 280/pc for 195/55/r15, inclusion of alignment/balancing.
Was told out of stock when i got there (even though i sms-ed to confirm before arriving doh.gif )

settled with PS3 195/50/r15 instead of an XM2, at 270/pc. (nicer with less thick sidewalls, expected bumpier ride, but still acceptable to me thumbup.gif )
Changed the rims from them too... (with no other miscellaneous charges rolleyes.gif )

Nice price and service...definitely recommended. (there was one guy not that friendly though shakehead.gif , i just find another guy ignoring him wink.gif )

best tires i had before. Grip in Dry + Wet is marvelous. laugh.gif

saw already, design wise still prefer something like GTR rims tongue.gif

after i heard after market rims not as durable compared to stock, i just dropped the idea... so now consider to change tyres only smile.gif
*
durability is definitely stock better. But do bear in mind they are VERY heavy as well, so it is expected.

Almost any decent rims at the same size will be at least 20% lighter than stock. Imagine the $$$ u can save with that. blush.gif

P.S: Oh and one more thing, a good set of tires are suppose to protect your rims better. So its another consideration there.

Actually, can someone tell what is the acceptable range of weigh of rim for vios? let say in kg per peice.
*
Erm...i dun think there is such a range... blush.gif

a good set of rims that are very pricey are made from expensive materials that are light and tough.

Affordable ones you have to weigh in yourself between looks and price.
Most of the time the nicer ones are heavier than the "not so nice" ones whistling.gif
Some people go for performance + FC, i went for looks tongue.gif (but mine was still lighter than the stock)

the lighter it is, the better is your FC, and so is your handling. (i was told)
Maybe other sifus can enlighten us the pros of a heavy rim apart from durability. wink.gif

I am looking for a DVD/Media player for my new Vios. What is your recommendation ? Budget below 1.5k (without GPS).

I was recommended by one of the shop the following brands and models.

1. PHILIPS CED1700 Double 2 DIN 7' HD Touch Screen Car DVD Radio Player

http://www.lelong.com.my/philips-ced1700-d...3-02-Sale-P.htm

However, another shop told me this model got problem. Under the hot sun, the power will auto cut-off. Anyone face the problem ?

2. Dynavin.

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Dynavin-Mala...n_id=1333934565

or any other better player you guys can recommend to me ? thanks
*
I'm using CED1700. How much they quote you? cool2.gif

So far ok. Power cut off never experience before, but radio cut off experience before blush.gif
Suddenly my radio no signal, has to restart the player a few times then ok.
(now less frequent)

The reason i chose this is tight budget of course. If not JVC or Pioneer would definitely be a better buy.

One thing you need to note though, the video format compatibility with this player is really not that good.
Only AVI supported, with bitrates quite low as well.
(gotta convert all my mp4's to avi for this doh.gif )

A rating of 5 i will go with 3/5, due to the fact that it is competitively priced and it works.

P.S: Almost forgot one last important thing, sound is definitely good enough.
Compared to lower end JVCs/Pioneers, this should kick their ass. (told by salesman whistling.gif )
I am not an ICE fan, but the sound was good for me laugh.gif

Hi,

Anyone have idea how much the new Vios G rims price? planning to trade in for a 16" ... Please advice.

Also will stick in with my favorite Falken ZE912~~~

but if the price cost too much after trade the stock rims + tyre, maybe will drive with the stock tyre 1st. T_T

Add: Please also advice some rims same quality as the stock rim.
again, is for highway run.  thumbup.gif
*
with the current high price of tyres, i would say avoid 912 if possible.

its highly rated thread rating is misleading. As it is nowhere near what it promotes.

twitchy when driving wet roads. my stock rims dented. (tires not offering enough protection for it)

the last time i was quoted 220+ per piece, would rather add a little to get more "branded" tires.

Just my 2 cents. No offense blush.gif

yes. Once warranty finished, advisable to go outside.

as 30-40% of the profit charges are labor charge most of the time.

and you only get standard parts from toyota anyway. blush.gif

Boss we are using G specs la. the steering control is there. currently in the market only have china units than can be compatible with the steering control. i don't have any confident with china units. so all i can do now is just get the best way to work on that... AUX is better than nothing...

woah... how much your mileage?

i service every 9k with fully synthetic... at 7k already can feel the car having less power and increased FC doh.gif
you didn't feel any difference? sweat.gif
*
had the same issue when i was using "Toyota Full Syn", which is from "Pennzoil" doh.gif

Then change to Castrol, Shell, fully syn, still the same feeling. (Shell feels more powerful though)

Since then been using Amsoil.

My current Amsoil has last me 15k, without any feeling of dropping in power and FC high.
Amsoil comes with 25k miles guaranteed if you use their signature oil coupled with their nanofibre oil filter.

In case anyone didn't know this,
1 miles = 1.6km brows.gif

in love with Amsoil wub.gif

currently my engine, gearbox and radiator is using amsoil product.... tongue.gif  tongue.gif  tongue.gif
depend on which amsoil you use...
*
bro,
are u using ATF or ATL for the gearbox?

how many quarts did you filled in? 3?
if its 3 i believe only about half was filled into the transmission, as the torque converter was filled with the other half at any time.

For your ATF i think still better use toyota ATF ... i think is WS ATF grade that indicate in the ATF stick. For nomally service ATF it need about 4 litter but there is some spare old oil in your AT... full flush ATF you need about 6~7 litter of ATF.
bro mind to share why you think WS ATF is better? blink.gif
Are you currently using Amsoil ATF? No good? blink.gif

I would like to give Amsoil ATL a try as the reviews has been great as well.
I believe 3 quarts enough for partial flush. Since other forums discussing Yaris is doing that.

my FC was bad at about 11 L/100km, found out my air filter was really dirty.

Swap it with a K&N Air Filter, now its about 8.7 L/100km thumbup.gif

figured my next engine oil, transmission oil, and coolant flush will make it even better smile.gif

so never forget to clean/replace that dirty air filter brows.gif

any idea whats wrong? my next 20k km service is about 4k away.....sigh
*
Extra car lock beeps are due to doors/boot not closed properly, at least that is what happening to my 2007 vios.
