No comment on the religion part but Villa really make a lot of neutral supporters like us lose respect of him. What's with the slapping all of a sudden? If he slaps Marcelo, I can still understand but ozil? What's with tat? What a great player Villa is but he just acted like some hooligans on pitch.... Joey Barton number 2?

As for Marcelo, good that he knew he made an ass kicking tackle that could injured someone. Maybe that's why he din argue with ref? Deserved to be sent off!

We don't know what really happened, and most probably we will never know. Ozil and Villa are not known for vicious behaviour. People are not sure the cause of Ozil's reaction, we also don't know what trigger Villa to lost his mind like that. Something must have happened in the brawl. We outsiders should not judge when we don't know the story.

For me the only guy who have demonstrated despicable behaviour is Mourinho. Others were just getting caught up in the heat of the moment.

Yup I lost respect to Villa, I'm mean Ozil is the quietest person in Real Madrid why Villa picks a fight with Ozil?

For now Messi, Sanchez and Afalley are the only person in Barcelona that could put Barcelona as respectable team again.

Özil pushed valdes when valdes wasn't looking, villa saw this and calmly confroted özil. Villa grabbed özils arm to get his attention then özil got angry and drags his arm away from villa in a ugly gesture(what the commentator said) and villa snapped.

Too bad its in Spanish. We couldn't fully understand it, but it looks like Villa has indeed overreacted, but Ozil was not as innocent as people claimed him to be. Words were being exchanged, so people can not say 'Ozil hadn't done anything'. I think the referee and his assistant, who were at the scene and the best people to judge, has done their job.

I've watched that video 5-6 times yesterday, but decided not to post it here. I think his pito statement is enough to show how terrible his behaviour.

You cant just justified everything based on the video showing Ozil slapped by Villa,cz most of us is not at the scene .
So try to be fair, both of them are wrong and involved in the brawl. So,the referee red-carded them.

and fyi, the main point of my post is directed to those people who judge villa based on the non-legit religion insult story.

Villa should show good example as he is one of great striker in the world, for me he should make an open apology to Ozil and Ozil should do the same if his words make Villa angry.

Nowadays, it seems like there is an emergence of a group of so called neutral fans whom specialty is (in fact mostly are EPL fanboys) to question the Barcelona players' behaviour at every given opportunity. Cant beat the football team attack their personalities?

Now dont get me wrong, I am not condoning some of the Barcelona players' actions. Some of their antics were truely condemnable, but to jump on the bandwagon on every incident seems like bitterness and jealousy in the part of the fanboys to me

I have been a football fan for almost 15 years... clubs from Italy, England, Germany were no angels themselves when they were dominating their respective leagues as well as the CL during the mid 90s... I had seen for myself how fanboys laughed when a player from the club they support committed something atrocious but were quick to blast and condemn when a player from another had done so... rolleyes.gif

So yes, Villa, Ronaldo, slap, cry, whine and dive. Yes, players from the Italian and German leagues are thugs and divers (just because the biased Skysports said so)... But do these fanboys (so called neutral fans) dare say players from the clubs they support are angels themselves? hmm.gif

So show yourself, instead of hiding behind as nuetral fans. Express your true bitterness and to an extend some jealousy instead of hiding behind as promoters of the fair game, as promoters of moral values wink.gif

The La Liga round 1 this weekend is set to be canceled because of player strike. The canceled Jornada will be postponed to some date near Christmas, and probably will clash with our World Club Cup date. We are going to have super-packed calendar this season.

But Barca will have its own program this weekend; Joan Gamper Trophy against Napoli on 22 August.
