i'm new here. just got a 2nd hand persona auto few months back... is due for service soon... was wondering if proton allow us to bring our own oil? what brand do u guys recommend?

Some can some cannot , depends on the center . our member here always discuss about castrol magnetic . Most SC used either Petronas Syntium or Shell Helix.

mine also first batch..it made on 10 march 2010. before i reflashing the ECU, it sometimes hard to start,engine dies off always and rpm goes up n down..now, all solved

how much the damaged?

Avoid Syntium if u can.. Maybe u can use Shell helix Ultra if u go SC and buy from them(very expensive). Or u can go out and try Fully synthetic oils such as Castrol Edge or Platinum oil(very rare) .. Fully can last for 10k between each change.
Some Proton SC like COSE or Serdang SC can bring own lube.

I have 2nd thoughts about magnatec now..

Also that day u test the oil, Can state whic oils u tested ?

That day the oil they were promoting was Platinum Oil.. Tested against almost every oil the market.. Only AMSOIL and ENEOS hvnt tested yet.. All got tapau and went home.. The best oil that came close was Mobil 1 Full Sync(8pounds) and Shell Helix Ultra (6pounds)

oi oi, go genting must have air filter also la. MAna gua punya air filter?

No stock lah.. But go up genting the air become colder.. So the performance will increase automatically.. No need performance filter.

After the RM5 toll, we stop 1 side then speed see who reach first. muahaha...

bro, noticed that your persona installed works engineering drop in air filter... how much is the damage??? any noticeable increase in power and fuel efficiency??

Power on low end rpm cant notice much difference, high rpm then the pick up is very much smoother and faster.. u can see the rev climbing and feel the power kicking in.. during hot afternoons when the air is very hot the engine doesnt feel heavy and unwilling to rev.. But driving at night can feel the most difference lah.. FC reduced abit lah.. Mostly is more power gain only.
