Yes it is for onboard only, if you plug in headphone, speaker or anything else you don't need that driver. But I found that headphone jack not that good either for the reason previously mentioned, if you a purist that is. If not it would be good enough

Just for update there is new driver on nv site, 270.61 WHQL. Because its officially support 500M GPU it no longer needs the INF hack to install
