hahahaha , anyway , what is the battery life if i dont game?
*
Which one? NP8130 or NP8150?

8130 should have more battery life, in theory (with the GPU being 460m)

But reportedly it's 2-3 hours long. Give me the weekend to sort many questions out haha and will put a big review up by the end of this week.

hehehe i mean the look of the laptop tongue.gif
should look the same rite? lol
coz im hesitating to get sager cause of the distance between the seller and me sad.gif

hard to claim warranty.

might as well pick over asus n53sn and save over 800bucks.
*
That's what I mean. I mentioned that the NP8130 has black plastic finish, and the NP8150 has a rubber grey finish. But basically they are the same, with the same motherboard even.

Hey all,

is Clevo and Sager the same company ?

Why some people put Sager/Clevo as the brand?
and, for example GTX 460M, will it be the same as GTX 460 Desktop ? (performance I mean)
*
Think of Clevo as, providing the chassis or housing and designs.

And think of Sager as a company marketing these designs.

Video review of what lol.

EDIT:

I did a small one...regarding the speakers. This is to show how it sounds like, that 2.1 speakers it has. It sounds amazing actually, very impressed.

This will be in the full review later.

you sure the np8130 is upgradeable to a glossy screen?
*
It's possible, but not for certain resellers like the one's close to Malaysia e.g. Mucro Asia, Cubehub.

US and other worldwide resellers offer the upgrades, e.g. Mythlogic, XoticPC.

how's the rubberised surface on the 8150 like? does it look like it will wear out quick?

im thinking of an 8150 but the rubber surface is holding me back
*
It's very smooth. Very sleek.

Don't think of it as a bouncing rubber, but more of an aluminum looking rubber. It doesn't flex, actually it doesn't really feel like rubber, but it is haha

This is where people are wrong. If you read my review, I told you to NEVER look at Sager themselves. They are horrible in customer service, but people tend to overlook the resellers, who provide the end user contacts and make the overall experience better.

Now, try putting the names of resellers in the website.

I wonder mucro/cubehub able to offer option of not to choose hard drive and memory module to make the unit cheaper, like RJ Tech. hmm.gif

http://rjtech.com/shop/index.php

And also, awaiting info for HD6970m in NP8150 model, which Eurocom already test it.
*
Ask them for the no HDD or memory option, they surely will provide it. The reseller I ordered from didn't have that option on website, but I emailed them and they say it's alright, we can process it and minus some $$ from your order.

btw sager`s accesories like adapter , battery are not available in our country?

there is no doubt about its quality rite?

QUOTE(soundsyst64 @ Mar 20 2011, 05:38 PM)
Each notebook has it's own power consumption, so i believe you can't simply plug asus adapter on acer notebook.
There's no seller selling sager accessories in malaysia. you need to buy straight from reseller.
In terms of quality, have to ask loyal sager owners. biggrin.gif
*
Of course the quality is good, there's less chance for a Sager/Clevo to fail than other brands.

And speaking about the accessory, I plugged in my friend's HP 100W adapter on my old NP8690 that seemed to fit in. It works! But the power isn't enough to run games properly though. If you get a random brand 180W/120W for your NP8150/NP8130, then in theory it should be still fine. Even plugging a higher watt adapter will still make it work, with the addition of having spare power, so the higher watt adapter doesn't run as hot.

wouldnt it damage the laptop?

i saw before using a not proper adapter with different laptop can cause the port to melt.
*
It didn't damage the port because the NP8690's original wattage was 120W, and I was using 100W to charge the laptop.

But in theory, the port shouldn't be damaged because of a higher wattage; it will put less burden on the adapter. Like when you have a 120W on a 120W laptop, the laptop uses the whole amount, but if you have 180W on a 120W laptop, there's more room to be free. Plus additional areas for overclocking + new upgrades.

There's some sources if you're still not sure, but I'm too lazy to find. The one here is about overclocking on a NP8690, but should theoretically apply to other newer models.

then would it be possible for a NP8130 user to, well maybe somehow in the future, to use NP8150 adapter (if the adapter -> laptop male socket connector matches la). sounds good.

Bought my item like 4 weeks ago from lpc-digital, finally it's being shipped to me.

Anyway, anyone knows how long should I expect for my item to arrive if it is using USPS, and the status right now is International Dispatch Arrival (since 11 am this morning). Does that mean the item is still being sort at the airport, or means that the item has already fly from the airport to its destination?
*
Oh you bought it from LPC? Haha, I did business with them for my order...but canceled it and went for a closer one. They offer cheap too.

The NP8130 and NP8150 uses the same motherboard/chipset. So if you have the NP8150 adapter you can connect to the NP8130.

i receive an e-mail from cubehub, stated

It is possible to remove the Hard Drive but not the memory as Sager dont allow us to do that now. As they told us many have problem installing thier own RAM and in the end have to go back to Sager.

it's okay to remove hard drive from the order, but MUST include the RAM.
owner list updated. Enjoy your new toy biggrin.gif

Oh, that's weird haha. Oh well, still depends on the reseller though. I understand about the RAM issue though; the extra RAM slots are quite hard to get to.

yep, but I thought that the default is a 2x RAM solution and not 4x RAM solution, meaning they actually put it at the bottom slot and not top slot? (like the video showed).
*
Mine came with a 4x2GB, instead of a 2x4GB. It might be the case with Mucro as well.

And so, I read the manual. It stated that:

"Two primary memory sockets are located under component bay cover (the bottom case cover), and two secondary
memory sockets are located under the keyboard (not user upgradable). If you are installing only two RAM modules
then they should be installed in the primary memory sockets under the component bay cover.

Note that the RAM located under the keyboard is not user upgradable. Contact your service center for more information if you wish to upgrade the memory in the secondary memory sockets."

So, maybe Mucro adapted this rule into their RAM issues. The secondary RAM slots are actually user upgradable...I don't know why they mentioned that it isn't. I tried it myself as well, but was kinda difficult. Maybe that's the reason perhaps.
