hi cryogenist. So far, we haven't heard an issue of random freezes, except some user having small problem with their bios and unable to detect graphics device.

I can't make a conclusion until I heard one user experience random freezes. smile.gif

ic... As you know in NBR, the culprit that is responsible for the random freezes is still not found yet.

I just asked my friend who have the 1st batch of NP8130, he say that he has experienced 2 freezes since his purchase.
and something weird. why isn't my post count increasing?
*
some said the freezes is caused by stock RAM during purchase, but I need to read the entire thread.

you may read the below FAQ about post count

And your friend here, which first batch are you talking about? The one before the Sandy Bridge recalls or the first batch after the SB fixes (I am in this category)?
*
i thought the sandy bridge problem only applies on sata controllers, right? hmm.gif

Has any of you guys bought from mxm-upgrade?
*
no one doing that yet. smile.gif

QUOTE(cryogenist @ Apr 6 2011, 11:05 PM)
Haha. I also hope there is no problem for everyone too.

The second reason I want to install my own RAMs is because RAM is cheaper in SG/MY. If there is any problem with them, I can RMA straightaway.
*
Mucro/cubehub didn't offer a unit WITHOUT RAM. I have asked then and they only offers the unit without hard drive. The customer must buy RAM.
In my case, I buy the unit WITHOUT hard drive and RAM from RJTECH.com.

The aftermarket (value RAM) is cheap if you compare it with the reseller. And I can get a special dealer price for any computer parts (currently working in company supplies computer parts)

I can get 4GB DDR3-1333 @ RM139 brows.gif

News
I have asked RJ Tech and they sells standalone AMD Radeon HD6970m card, and probably together with new heatsink.
You have to do the upgrade by yourself, if you do not wish to deliver the laptop to reseller.

This is weird. DHL has an office in Kota Bahru.
DHL Worldwide Express Sdn Bhd
No. 5, Lot 1202A/996, Ground Floor, Taman Puspa Uda, Jalan Pengkalan Chepa, Kota Bharu Kelantan 15400 Malaysia,

Unprofessional? Or "special arrangement" by DHL local staff?
I remember DHL advertised on TV that they can deliver goods to every corner in Asia.
Insist delivery by DHL if you are not comfortable with poslaju.
*
maybe they have some sort of arrangement. (to get commission or some sorrt)

The shipping cost varies for each reseller and each country.

In my case, I pay USD$124 for shipping from California, USA to Malaysia via USPS ExpressMail International. Malaysia custom won't charge any tax on computers/laptops.

The reseller (RJTECH) offers paypal, credit card and wire transfer, but credit card/paypal only for US and Canada customers. So I opt for wire transfer and pay bank's wire charges (my side). Once the beneficiary receive the fund, RJTECH will pay the bank charges on his side.

@carbonytte
I'm still in the process of compiling all the questions and compose a perfect questions. XD

wow. cheaper transportation cost from RJTECH. Well, not sure but could be that for my case, LPC-Digital was sending from Nevada. Maybe that's why mahal a bit (although the shipping cost was less than $100, but wat to do, reseller oso want to carik makan~)
*
or i assume that rjtech use some of the shipping fund to cover the bank charges on their side. smile.gif

@jimmykvt

I'm using Public Bank (Malaysia) to do wire transfer from my account to reseller's account (Cathay Bank Southern California, USA). The breakdown stated below.

Rate : USD$1 (RM 3.06 as on 5th April)
Invoice Price : USD$1418.06 (RM4339.26)
Bank Commission : RM 2.00
Wire Transfer Charge : RM 30.00
Nett : RM4371.26

Once the reseller receive the fund, they will pay the bank charges imposed by Cathay Bank. I only pay the bank charges imposed by Public Bank.

And surprisingly, the reseller reply my e-mail stated that they receive my payment in less than 16 hours! biggrin.gif Talk about super-efficiency.

in mucro, you open both tabs in your browser (one for np8150 and np8150-s1)

compare both side by side and you notice there's a difference on pricing for regional warranty. biggrin.gif

The above order confirmation came from XoticPC, so just like to highlight the few things in red colour.

In case if the bank over in U.S charges some fees for the incoming wire transfer, we will need to bear it.

It seems like they still recommend UPS instead of USPS and won't be responsible for any undeliverable or lost items by USPS.

And also the money will be transferred to Intermediary Bank before going to Beneficiary Bank. Using online foreign telegraphic transfer, it only goes to beneficiary, no intermediary. No wonder they don't recommend us to use online wire transfer?
*
About wire charges, it is true, but in my case, the seller bear the charges on their side. I only cover the charges on my side (public bank)

You can choose which shipping method you'd like based on your available budget. Normally, packages delivered by USPS ExpressMail International with tracking number won't get lost. I have buy items overseas and deliver using USPS expressmail, and none of them went lost. ExpressMail is similar to our Poslaju service. Easy to track the delivery progress.

Some resellers recommend wire transfer for international orders, and some are not because of those reasons.
My funds deliver from Public bank and went to JPMorgan Chase Bank, before deposited to seller account in Cathay bank. This is the only option if the seller does not offer paypal/credit card for international customer.

Once USPS deliver the item and entering Malaysia, the package will be handled by Poslaju. USPS don't have branch in Malaysia, like other worldwide courier service.

QUOTE(Amal @ Apr 8 2011, 05:16 PM)
yes.. but only so little...
still, if it selected the same warranty. The S1 is still more expensive.
S1 should be cheaper than non-S1.
summore can't downgrade the S1 to i7-2630QM to reduce price.  rclxub.gif

It is better to take normal NP8150 and config to np8150-s1 smile.gif

Maybe Prince J appoint himself and helped Sager to sell the notebook. But the warranty still refer to Mucro (based on the quotation he gave to me)

based on my observation, the matte screen for np8150-s1 is not there since NP8 series is introduced hmm.gif
