QUOTE(KTCY @ Mar 1 2011, 10:19 AM) Nikkor 14-24 not as wide as Sigma 12-24 anyway 14-24 is pretty wide when you have FX Well. Not sure yet. Sigma 12-24 new version come out soon. Will be waiting for the review and etc. since you are preparing for FX then shouldn't be a problem right? hhahaha.. Yeah.. I've been having fun with UWA lately. I feel like buying tokina 11-16 2.8 however since it doesn't AF with my body, what is your suggestion? should I upgrade body 1st then go for 11-16 or go for 12-24 f 4 instead? QUOTE(KTCY @ Mar 1 2011, 10:40 AM) 12-24 and 14-24 there is weakness. Can't put filter. can't put filter also nvm lah. I don't wanna get 14-24 because bulky and I don't need constant aperture / big aperture for landscape ! 12-24 f4 sharp on f4. What think you ? 11-16 sharp but no details but 12-24 sharp with details. Personally play with both till boring liao you told me to go naked if you can't purchase good filter right? hahaha.. sharp with details and sharp w/o details? what does it mean? 1st time heard that thing. can you please tell this newbie more. |

Thinking to upgrade but honestly I am expecting something with better IQ than D3100.Added on March 1, 2011, 11:09 am i think u should upgrade ur body... not only u can use this lens but other lens that did not hv motor... just think about the cost... u can spend the money for other stuff... Added on March 1, 2011, 11:12 am yeah... whats meaning by sharp with details and sharp w/o details? which doesn't burn my bank account QUOTE(KTCY @ Mar 1 2011, 11:20 AM) how about tokina 12-24? recommended? Nikkor very expensive.. should have a better consideration. |

QUOTE(KTCY @ Mar 1 2011, 11:35 AM) Forget about it. Get 11-16 better if between 12-24 tokina He mentioned that 2 of course I tell which to get la I of course will recommend FX lens but he didn't ask for that. Why bother ? You should read from beginning instead of jumping in half way and taking that as a conclusion This doesn't happen on my 35/2 Probably because f/2 ? But 50/1.4 doesn't have that problems too hahaha.. I asked about comparison between 11-16 tokina and 12-24 tokina |

QUOTE(KTCY @ Mar 1 2011, 11:43 AM) Oh ya. I thought Nikkor 12-24. Ohh.. Okay then I think I should upgrade body first before actually investing on lens more. Thanks!Tokina 12-24 quite soft to my liking. Not jumpy. 10-24 distortion a little complex. Prefer 11-16 If nikkor, 12-24 DX the best Added on March 1, 2011, 11:45 am Send together with you VRII for calibration ? AFAIK, it won't be. Tested the 35/1.4 and 85/1.4 before on my D90, it works accurately. Added on March 1, 2011, 11:50 am QUOTE(alvinX @ Mar 1 2011, 11:46 AM) I would said 1224 is more worthy! even nikkor lose to it by miles... 12-24 more worthy but you will buy 11-16 if you were me? 1116 i will buy if i were you go try it by your self... not forget to try out sigma 1020 ! isn't that statement seems opposing each other? I tried sigma 10-20. doesn't really like it. 11-16 doesn't AF with my body 12-24 do AF with my body. or upgrade my body and buy 11-16? This post has been edited by aldosoesilo: Mar 1 2011, 11:50 AM |

QUOTE(alvinX @ Mar 1 2011, 11:55 AM) i got no info regarding sigma one. Just that 10, maybe suit his taste. I tried sigma 10-20. my body doesn't AF with 1116 tokina. as it doesn't have AF motor. Nope, as he said he dun wan burn his bank account. In this case 1224 may come worthy. From my point of view, if 35mm able to satisfied you, with that kind of price i doubt the IQ you will ever make you regret it. But if you look for more 1116 is your choice. As for me, nikkor 1224 looks more complex than 1116. Just my 2 cents. QUOTE(kakisemut @ Mar 1 2011, 11:56 AM) YesQUOTE(KTCY @ Mar 1 2011, 11:56 AM) D3100 more better than D90 in term of IQ and noise control ! Yeahh.. Agree D3100 IQ is good but the lacking of AF makes me difficult in choosing lens.I'd say the list goes like this. From worst to best DX Sigma 10-20 f/4.5-5.6 Sigma 10-20 f/3.5 Tokina 12-24 Sigma 8-16 Nikkor 10-24 / Tamron 10-24 Tokina 11-16 Nikkor 12-24 anyway thanks for the list bro. Will do further research. Thanks! |

QUOTE(alvinX @ Mar 1 2011, 12:05 PM) Lol! Then why u still considering Tokina. If you can live without af, just afs all the way. 1224 FTW!!! Read the post before jump into conclusion bro. some more giving feedback FTW! I said. I am considering tokina 12-24 or tokina 11-16. where if I want tokina 11-16 I have to upgrade my body because I don't have AF motor. else 12-24 version II which has AF motor. so I wanted to know about the suggestion. read the previous post before saying "FTW" bro. QUOTE(jchue73 @ Mar 1 2011, 12:21 PM) What kind of distortion? You mean the left and right sides of the picture when shot at 10mm? I believe all wide angles have this wide angle distortion. Limitation of the 35mm (or rather the smaller DX) frame. Having said that, yes, Nikkors are always better but the question that remains is how much better are they compared to the rest... What did you don't like about the Sigma? How did you compile this list? Did somebody make a comparison test for all of them above? Shooting landscapes is usually focused near infinity. Else, use hyperfocal technique and set aperture f8 to f11 and you should get everything spot on. ![]() sample of sigma 10-20mm doesn't really like the distortion. and heard tokina is better with only small difference amount of money. Honestly I know I want 11-16 tokina it just doesn't AF QUOTE(Tony Stark @ Mar 1 2011, 12:22 PM) No I mean this body doesn't have AF I need to be picky sometimes when buying lens. QUOTE(alvinX @ Mar 1 2011, 07:19 PM) =.= read it la bro... i dun think im require to state it out all the time right? if u wanna upgrade ur body to d7k for a UWA i rather suggest you go for nikkor 1224 with your D3100. u said u dun wan burn a hole in ur bank yet u comparing a 1224 with 1116 with a new body. what kind of comparison is that. only god know what you mean. did u ever rmb what you wrote? thats why i dun think ur budget is limited. for me, i will not recommended u upgrade from d3100 to d7000 because of the lens restriction for af somemore seems like u able to afford nikkor lens. tats why i suggest u nikkor FTW. IDK I don't feel like using those expensive lenses. especially DX. I still prefer tokina since the quality is not that far and the built quality is reasonable moreover the price tag is quite something. Errrmm.. I can do upgrade my body and then grab the lens but it takes more time to fill my bank account hahaha.. but for the time being let's just shoot with d3100. hahaha |

The only poison which makes me able to knock my head of is razu's Christmas theme and it was Nikon thread version 1 if I am not mistaken.
nowadays poison-less. share photos? from 125 pages there might only 10 pages of photos maximum Well.. never see any gathering in Nikon thread. or there is gathering-gonna-be? most of this thread discussing gears lohh lens particularly..
