I have read a few reviews and watch a few videos on D3100.
Just want inquire some personal opinion from you guys, is D3100 good for Entry level and traveling purposes? Will it become obsolete in near future?
*
it is a very good camera for beginner. however the battery span is quite short. if you want to travel you might want to consider extra battery. else than the lacking of AF motor and CLS capability I found no problem with that.

Currently have a lot of consideration. because I will most probably sell my camera as I receive quite a good offer from my college regarding my d3100.
and been thinking about upgrading body. yet body upgrade from DX to DX. is pretty disturbing my mind. rclxub.gif

get D7000, still can be considered an awesome upgrade brows.gif
*
is it better to go for d7000 or d700 and play with its DX lens compatibility? as it could use DX sensor crop as well.

If you want to go with D700, means 99% you won't be using DX lens one, 5MP photo what u want to do with it?
I rather use D7000 with a DX lens if you let me choose.

hmm.gif Thanks for the consideration bro.
Will see how it goes. nod.gif

35mm F/1.8 is just an entry level DX lens, nothing to be proud of  laugh.gif , i was one of the user 1 year ago... If u have Sigma 50 1.4 i bet u wont even touch the 35 f/1.8  brows.gif

Sell all get VR2  tongue.gif
*
hahaha.. biggrin.gifD let's see will it be sigmalux or tokina 12-24 or upgrade body tongue.gif
because I found out 35 1.8 give me quite a good image even on wide open, IDK whether it's my copy or my eye problem. hahhaha..
I am noob la can't really differentiate lens sharpness. doh.gif

QUOTE(Kent3888 @ Mar 3 2011, 02:13 PM)
Noo.... It's good enuf for me, juz I prefer the perspective of 50mm as a portrait lens, I don't use it as a walk around lens. Den for portrait, the image on 35mm1.8 is not that flattering though, n I notice I alwiz use the 50mm end of the 17-50 for portrait more compared to my 35mm prime
*
Hahaha... Good on your bro smile.gif
for me I will keep 35mm and 50mm. but let's see later. tongue.gif

Thought is common for prime to hav a better distortion control over zoom lens. It'll be sad if a pro-prime are worst in distortion control to zoom lens.
*
agree!
there is nothing fancy about prime having better optical quality, distortion control compared to zoom lens
