Hmm... I wonder if anyone did their setup this way:

I don't want all the devices (BTU, router, STB etc.) near the TV which is at the living room. So what I have in mind is that the BTU and router can be inside a room and I'll use homeplugs to connect the router to the STB at the TV area.

Will this be possible, anyone done this?

may i know whether the rm200 installation fee waived by TM includes any extension and drilling for wiring for landed properties?
I am worried there's xtra charges for those things on top of the rm200 waived.
*
They will still charge you if extra cables are required.

Guys ... anyone here knows whether the CLIR (on Unifi) can be turned on or off just like when using mobile phones ?
*
That should be an add-on feature with a monthly fee for it.

So the IPTV is just there so that we can watch HyppTV? So if I subscribed to BIZ5, I cannot watch HyppTV is it?
*
Yup since the triple play service is only for the residential packages aka VIP.

Hi guys, I just have UniFi installed yesterday but have already encountered a problem. My dad and I use Dell Inspiron laptops that were bought back in 2008, and both of us could not connect to the internet as we can't detect the wifi signal. My netbook on the other hand, which we got last year, was able to connect through radio signal. If we were to use the LAN cable, we could connect (on the Dell lappies)

I did a thorough search and found out that my network adapter currently supports only up to 802.11g for radio mode, while the radio signal detected on my netbook shows 802.11n (UniFi router). I then updated my network driver and hardware, but to no avail.

I have an inkling that the cause is the radio mode incompatibility issue, but I've been trying to solve the problem for hours now.

Can anyone help?
*
You'll have to login to the router and see if the wireless radio is configured to mixed mode or only to 'N'. If it's in mixed mode, it should be backwards compatible to network cards that does not support wireless-N.

tm open up all premium channel. what happen to them?
*
If I'm not wrong, they did mention it is a way of celebrating and thanking customers on their birthday. It is also another way to promote and try to tempt viewers to subscribe to premium channels.

Where can I get the Microtik RB750 or RB750G ???
Apparently landasan is out of stock...

If they are out of stocks then your best bet would be our neighbor Singapore.

Dear Sifu-Sifu,

Izzit normal to get upload less than 3mb when i do speed test???

Henry

Well, by right you should get close to what your package's speed is. However considering the amount of problems UniFi is experiencing, I've seen many who get much lower upload speeds than advertised.

*
Not too bad, some areas have to wait until May and they registered early March.

Just installed my unifi, and my download speed is pathetic. Tried everything, restarting modem..different computers, different speedtests. Still the same. The installers couldn't figure out the problem either and said that it was TM's problem or something like that.

On a positive note, I notice that my torrents pick up speed ALOT faster compared to when I was using streamyx. Although my current speed is the same as my old streamyx lol.

Near my area too, will be getting mine installed next week. Hopefully this area won't have much problems. Well if it's slow but usable (e.g. 1mbps or more) then I will still give them time to get it solved but if there are a lot of downtime then that will be frustrating.

Hey guys please check the attachment. My first unifi bill. Can you guys clarify what's RM 151.18 ? as pointed by the red arrow..  smile.gif
*
Prorated charges. Because the bill cycle ended before even 1 month (30 days) so they charge it based on the amount of days used.

fiber wire hanging at puhcong kinrara area.
based on the coveraged area experience, once they hanging like this, normally take how long to put the unifi white box?
*
For my area, the moment I saw them starting works on deploying the initial equipments on the telephone pole, it took roughly about the next 6 months for UniFi to be ready and activated at my area.

woohoo...unifi technician coming to install in my place tomorrow.

Applied on last Friday. They called and said if can't tomorrow then have to wait until May. Appointment is really packed.
*
So you received a call 2-3 days before installation date? Mine is supposed to be today 2.30pm but I've not received any calls from them to confirm the appointment. So I gave UniFi call centre a call earlier and they told me that their system is showing today 2.30pm as well. They just ask me to wait and if nobody comes to install it at 2.30pm, they will have to make another appointment. If this is the case, I think it's quite ridiculous. What about those people who took leave just to be home for UniFi installation and now they can't make it or whatever it is.

So anybody else had similar case with me? No calls 2-3 days before installation date. Did they came to install eventually although they did not give a call? hmm.gif

So maybe mine could be a "FFK case" now since nobody called me to confirm, not even to confirm my address. Chances of them coming today should be very slim. Sigh. hmm.gif

Case closed, so I was really disappointed with how the TM's CS people work. Ok I will give credits for their friendliness and patience but the problem is they have to work more effectively.

My appointment was confirmed scheduled on 4th April 2011, 2.30pm which is today. By right we should be receiving a confirmation call from them about 2-3 days before the installation date.

So I did not receive any calls from them but I did not give them a call earlier because I was thinking maybe it was the weekend and they probably did not give a call. So I thought they would probably give me a call today.

So waited until near 12pm and still no calls, I knew something is not right already. Gave TM a call and one of the CS even told me to just wait for the installer to come at 2.30pm and if nobody come, contact them again. I think this is by far the most ridiculous answer since they should have known it is a standard procedure for them to call 2-3 days before installation date. If there are no calls, won't he think that it is weird and something is not right somewhere?

So I spoke to another 2 CS people and they weren't really helpful, but they just told me that they will follow up with this case. However, I doubt so since they are always flooded with phone calls. However, the last CS I spoke to referred me to the Account Services department and gave me the telephone number for it. So yup I called the Account Services department.

Finally, the Account Services department is the right one to talk to. After talking to the lady from the Account Services, I was put on hold for quite a while but at least now I won't be left hanging unlike the previous CS I spoke to.

So the problem why I did not receive any calls about 2-3 days before installation date was because the person who registered for me (I had to register through phone because there was a problem registering online due to some address issues), so at that time I had to register through phone. The person who helped me registered through phone did not check certain procedures in the application and therefore no installer was assigned since there wasn't any confirmation call.

I have mixed feelings now. I'm happy to know that the Account Services department could give me an answer and at least I can now confirm that nobody will be coming today. What I'm not happy is that how could the person who helped me register missed out that kind of procedure?

So now my next possible appointment date will be in the second week of May. More than a month of postponement all just because of that staff's mistake when helping me to register.

Disappointed much.
