Heard Unifi working on VIP30 and VIP45. When it will release drool.gif . VIP45 wow sure super download speed demon sweat.gif

vip20 already rm250 liao and i dont think many ppl will even consider paying more than that.Unless they upgrade our existing package i dont see why higher speeds are workable and how about the cap that will be implemented?Maybe just do it like streamyx FUP and no cap will be great. biggrin.gif

Finally joined the vip5 club.

Here's a few issues:

1)So much for free installation and one month free.Charged me rm400(rm300 for line and stuff and rm100 for installing through the ceiling).Very lame...

2)IMHO please do change the router to another one.Using the tp link router now.For default router wifi number cannot change(for what reason i have no idea).I even gotta call up unifi call centre to get the router password.

For any new subscribers just be wary of the above issues.

There is a table of charges which includes what is given in free installation and what is not, I presume you had checked it before agreeing to pay? Installation can basically be free if you don't mind a hole through your wall and placing your BTU within 15m fibre from that spot. But you really shouldn't expect people to crawl through your ceiling FOC. tongue.gif

Yea it is just a heads up.There should at least clarify better what is free installation.Guess i gonna enjoy it to the max to recoup my sadness of paying the initial cost.. tongue.gif

That seems overly expensive. I only got charged rm150. With 10m extra cable and going thru ceiling somemore.

The default password should be... no password! Check http://unifi.athena.my for the list of all possible ones. The wifi ssid, channel n all can be changed via manual wireless configuration.

Oops sorry not router password but the pppoe password.

Saw the receipt given by the contractor. It says 15m x rm21=rm315 but they charged rm300 and rm100 for climbing ceiling.Sure is good money for them.

if you are the one who registering the unifi, you should be getting an email from them pertaining all the package given including the username and password for each service. the tech didnt give it to you because you should have it.

before getting them to do their job, did you ask them about the charges that gonna be involve? if you did not you shouldnt be complaining about that. if you did ask them, you shouldnt be complaining either, because you already aware and agreed to that charges. either way you cant complaint because you already agreed to the initial 15 meters wiring and those 'minimal drilling'. even their website stated, if you require other than the stated installation, you are required to pay for that.

i'm not trying to put a flame on you, but any potential customer should know this, or at least read in their website
I'm not using my own email so i might have missed out the password.Anyways the password had been resent so no problems there.

I'm not angry or anything.I'm just trying to give people the heads up to put some cash aside so to pay for the charges and stuff.

Nah ping to local server really tells you nothing.I prefer lower ping for overseas though.I thought we should be getting even lower ping for local server.

Speed wise is still ok.I do hope local connection dont get cap.

Just a student la... Can't move wherever i want... And... Staying in condo gives me a "safer feel". Haha

Unless you live in luxury condos/apartments then maybe really feel safer.Me same as student like you tongue.gif

I do feel surfing to be smoother.Hope someday can upgrade to higher tier(price drop or free upgrade would be great)or pay myself sometime in the future.

Anyways the unifi did lag or pause a bit just now.Hope it continues to be ok.

Another info, the TM staff said although there is no installation fee and free 1 month fee, I will still be charged 1 mth advance fee just like registering a new tel line. So if I reg VIP5, then my first mth bill would not be free but billed 149 as advance payment. hmm.gif

just for info, guys.

Can you further clarify? When can get the 1 month free then?
