Waiting for my C30 to arrive next week......haih

just wondering why no one here use C60?

other than having no expansion memory slot, i read from reviews C60 got bad firmware and build quality......is it true? unsure.gif
*
1) Secondary reason: My C30 still works well.
2) Primary reason: No uSD slot.
3) May be a reason: No money.

laugh.gif

AFAIK, buggy firmware is common w/ these kind of DAPs, but endured by users since it isn't a big deal, it's cheaper and has better hardware capabilities than branded.

That said, there's one user of C60 here. Maybe you can get him to tell about C60's firmware and build quality.

@EightPhantomz
Thanks for the info. smile.gif This would come in handy if I were to encounter it.. biggrin.gif

p/s: My C30 finally hanged after probably 4-5 mnths, and that's while initializing. sweat.gif

Nope. C30 browse by folder. 2 lines only too.

If you sort your folders well, you'd have no problem. I was very used to SE Walkman's interface, then I have C30. No problems in adapting, since it's pretty much standard mp3.

just for your consideration, C60 doesn't have slot for external memory. thought you might wanna know..

and that was enough to make me forget C60. laugh.gif

Some thing I personally don't really like, is when BBE "ON"! It increase the volume as well, but it increase more on the FLAC format compare with mp3.
In my C30 there is 50% FLAC and 50% MP3. With BBE "ON", while playing MP3 on certain volume level then next song is at FLAC format it suddenly volume become loud!
*
That's the BBE w/ FLAC bug I've mentioned earlier. Well, earlier this year that is. laugh.gif

In my case, I need to select BBE again to have the vol. at normal BBE. And; I've to do this every time a new FLAC track loads.

My C30 keeps playing the same songs even though playback is set on random

eg. Track A would play again after 7 tracks, sometimes the next track is also the same track

Anyone facing similar problem? unsure.gif
*
I have barely used random, and IIRC it was the same for me too.

This happens when a randomizing program wasn't programmed to make sure a track won't play again after a good number of other songs biggrin.gif

Certain tracks cannot be played on the C30

I tried to select it, hang for a while then plays different track

why ar? unsure.gif
*
What kind of tracks that you've failed to play?

Anyway, C30 can't play an *highly compressed FLAC or anything higher than 16bit/48kHz.

*not sure how high it can go, never tested it.

A couple of users including me says "time will cure it." laugh.gif

P/s: Seriously, mine used to hang quite a lot when it was new. Not sure how long it took to stop hanging though.

Hey, if use 16gb micro sd, will lag alot?
*
I'm using one. No lags.

Just a note, I did encounter a problem w/ 16GB + .022 firmware. It took too long to initialize the microSD. No prob on my current firmware though. (.020)

QUOTE(lance_05 @ Dec 3 2011, 03:27 PM)
hey you guys! im a new owner of c30, and im actually loving it since day one! i just have this "little" problem. my c30 cannot seem to recognize any of the .flac files i have been putting. it shows a [?] beside the file and it cannot play the track.. i have trying to play with the bit rate and frequency but i cannot  seem to make it work... can anyone help me here? most of the files i try to play were on 16bit/44khz
*
It could be the compression level. Try to convert them to a flac with a level 5 compression level.

p/s: IIRC, 16bit/48KHz is the max supported by C30.

i am pretty sure that all the tracks i put in are 16bit...

here's the weird part, i tried changing the file extension of my .flac files into .mp3 and they all played on my c30!...
*
That is odd. hmm.gif So, to satisfy my curiosity, I went ahead and renamed a .flac file to .mp3 and vice versa.

C30 doesn't have any problem playing them. It did fooled the BBE system however. I can now use all BBE presets on the flac disguised as .mp3 file. hmm.gif

EDIT: Forgot to say that while C30 doesn't have problem playing them, this renaming thing messed up C30's tag reading. In other words, you'll only see the file name while playing. No artist.

help2. Does anyone know how to change the language to english. I've formatted my mp3 and it's been set to chines. Help me.
*
I know how to change it with mine, but these steps would only work if your menu is the same as mine.

1. Go to Settings under Main Menu,
Long press 'M' until you go to the screen with icons at the left side, look for the icon with a hammer and press 'M'.
2. Press down six times, press right once.
3. Make sure you're on top of this list, and press right.
Mine have 3 listed item in this list. Hence when there two items in the screen, I picked the upper one.
4. Everything should be in English now.

p/s: I'm glad mine is about 16 months old and working fine. Got scratches here and there though, thanks being dropped onto the asphalt & cement a couple of times.

C30 doesn't include any function to remember where it stopped during the last session. I'm pretty sure that's how it's supposed to work.

p/s: I sort my files by folder btw, so what I played the last time doesn't matter to me. rolleyes.gif

Well, it works on the internal media, it would return to the song where it last stopped, 'Initializing', then the song would replay again.

Yeah I was thinking about sorting the songs by folder too... Thanks! smile.gif

Updated: tried sorting the files by folders, still same, it will return to the very first song of the first folder. yawn.gif
So now using only the internal memory since my songs don't exceed 4GB
*
So it works on internal media.. Didn't know that. (oops) tongue.gif

I guess it's good that internal is enough for you. smile.gif
