QUOTE(gogo2 @ Feb 21 2011, 12:26 AM) Auto cruise can save more petrol automatically. So getting rid of auto cruise to me is like actually, if on hilly roads, auto cruise is bad for fuel consumptionlosing another way of auto save petrol. I only buy car with auto cruise. No auto cruise will get lower mark from me. Hehe |

That's why I like stupid computer, you ask it to run 90km/h, it will maintain there only..... The speed drop a bit, the computer will put more petrol in.
BTW, how many true flat roads in Malaysia? |

QUOTE(kyheng @ Feb 21 2011, 08:07 AM) HONDA claim:QUOTE "When you're in less of a hurry, there's enough electric motivation to propel the 2010 Insight at city speeds up to 30 mph with the engine off. This transition is utterly seamless because the always-connected nature of the system means the engine is still spinning and the tachometer still registers whenever the car moves. In this fuel-cut electric mode, the Insight's VTEC system switches to a lobe-less round cam that keeps the valves shut to reduce pumping losses." Maybe I can set it to 48 km/h (equivalent to 30 mph) and then hopefully it'll use electric motor more. |

48km/h..... No wonder Honda dare to boast can get 50km/l.....
Driving such speed in single lane trunk roads, it is generating more carbon as every car cannot overtake it. So, is Insight is a green car? Yes, if no other cars in the road. If got others car in the road, Insight is worst than a lorry that never serviced after 10 years and using pre Euro 2 standard fuel. Overall, Insight is not an enviroment friendly car, it is a enviroment harmful car and conveying bad attitudes to other road users. |

You can read more about Honda Insight second generation I2 here:

No wonder Honda dare to boast can get 50km/l..... 48km/h is petrol engine off wor. if 80km/h, it'll use both electric and petrol engine. So if you say that Insight is not environment friendly just based on that statement, I believe you're just trolling here to bash Honda Insight. If like that, you're not welcome here. Yeah, why don't you quote Prius vs BMW test by Top Gear? Why not show your stupidity even further? Are human prepared to go green? You have to see whole package and see how green is Hybrid car before you start to talk cock here. |

@kyheng would really appreciate it if u stick to your Inspira Thread. You're way off topic, read the Thread title please. You're also welcome to create a hybrid bashing thread to voice your opinion.
IMO generally, computer can be smarter than you and me. FYI Some newer cruise control technology (not insight) are capable of adjusting the cruising speed to various incline inorder to get the best fuel consumption. This post has been edited by psyeo: Feb 21 2011, 08:28 AM |
