hello,
wanna ask turbocharged car owner here, these few days i've been asking around about "which engine oil suitable for turbo system"...

some say:

mineral oil - the molecule is more stable bla bla but i cant find the logic here

semi-synthetic - i saw in some oil ads/flyers suggesting that oil the best for turbo cars

full-synthetic - got ppl said to me that this 1 too light/thin, easily dried up by the temperature

so until now, i still cant decide which 1 is the best for it..

according to manual is best, if nothing mentioned i would go for full synthetic oil, these new oils have very high resistance to shearing and wearing.

how about try fully synthetic oil buy from Petrol Station .Turbo engine are very hot and if you buy from spare part shop and the oil are fake sure will kill the engine very fast

There is Petronas oil that are made fomulated for NGV and i think this oil are good for turbo engine.

Look at the owners manual for the best recommendation. I drive an Evo 7 and Mitsu recommends synthetic 10W30. Mitsubishi Malaysia recommends 15W50 for the Malaysian climate so the engine oil I use is 15W50 Motul 6100 Synergie thumbup.gif

i think ts modified a car to turbo charge so owner's manual engine oil also need to change to suit the hotter engine.

Try Petronas NGV oil buy from Petrol Station and earn mesra point or buy Mobil Fully Synthetic 5w50 at Esso or Mobil Petrol Station that oil are for sport car

Rich people use the full syn oil....;-)

poor people use mineral oil like me.

middle class = semi syn oil. he he he

Ok i have to stop teasing ....u have to know how is yr condition of yr car? For turbo car usually will be better to use Semi syn oil that not too thin and heavy. If your car is brand new then use the full syn one.

there r some fake oil around, so beware especially whom u do not know when u buying.

Thicker oil smile.gif

Visit www.lubricant.sg for Valvoline Oil, it's USA motor Racing oil.

SAE 5W40 to 20W50 would work smile.gif

Ur car engine is quite new, u can try to put 10W40 instead of 15W50. Anyway, do get a oil temperature and exhaust temperature gauge, for BOT, sometimes it's good to monitor both temperature. :-)

Cheap bang for the buck value. But this oil cannot stand very high stress like fully syn oils. Which explains a lot of engines worn out faster. BTW u should be using oils that has very long operating value. Like 15-50 and such.

any other special care needed for turbocharged car other than regular engine oil level check?
