if ur ps3 can't be turned on anymore u hav to fix it to make it work then only u can backup the files. that is the only way...

urm... i would prefer u to take somewhere juz cheap cheap fix it and restore back to ur new ps3...

anyway bro u missed my 1st post... to add in my details, i would suggest u to sell out ur fat 1 and get a new slim 1... the best way i think... if u dont want to, u can refer back to my 1st post...

yeah u can ask technician for more details, technician fix the thing anyway so most probably they will hav any idea to prevent as well...

i not very sure it is a good idea, because the heat comes from behind, so if u put behind then means u blewing back all the heat back to the console... theoritically... LOL~ if blew from beside but there doesnt hav much holes to blew in the air... i think the best way is air cond...

i dont think so, as u can see the fans is behind of the ps3 to remove the heat from the inner ps3, so it is quite impossible that the heat will trap below the ps3, perhaps there might be some heat trap inside, but it shuldn't be much. Anyway I never hear before hard disk spoiled, anyway i rather hard disk spoiled than ps3 spoil to be honest... Anyway the things i mention is theoritically, so u can correct me if i'm wrong ^^

i not sure can trade in, but u can sell and get a new 1...

I not very sure either... some said it is good some said not... and some said coz it use the usb power from the ps3 so it will consume some power and cost more heat generated, but i think that is very little can doesnt affect much on the ps3 and some said it block the air ventilation or smtg like tat... so i not very sure also i remained it as the original...

I not sure whether there is super slim ps3... and phat ps3 is the worst ps3 model currently, so u noe wat i mean...

Yeah some shop that do reballing on laptops, graphic cards and so they say they do reballing for ps3 and xbox360 as well...

reballing would cost RM200-300 theoritically it can last for years, but i've sent mine and juz last for months...

Ok I never sent it before to Sony, but I've called them before and they say they only accept Sony PlayStation 3 that purchased in Sony Centre MALAYSIA only and I've a fren bought it at there and send back to there. End up my friend told me that the price to fix it is better to just buy a new PlayStation 3 lololol...
