Forumer you are complaining against: Ravi6662, Hp No. 016-3317284

Item being sold/bought: Cloned/replica Nokia N95 8Gb (China phone)

Original thread link: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=1728403&hl=

Date of transaction: 1 February 2011

Details of the complaint :

Got conned into buying a cloned /imitation Nokia N95 8Gb from Ravi6662. He advertised as selling original Nokia N95 8Gb, price: RM420--> nego RM400.

Clone Nokia N95 selling in other forum for only RM150. Lowyat.net do not permit seller to sell imitation products

I was made aware that this site is did not permit selling imitation products. During COD i inspect the condition of phone but unable to detect the clone feature. The clone features mostly can only be detected when it is connected to PC because some of the icons in the phone are fake i.e 8gb memory, actual only 2gb. Camera: image if download to computer has max resolution of only 640*480. Outlook almost 100% orginal.

I tried resolving internally with him but he has very low etiquette. More so when he actually mention that he works in US before.

I checked on internet about him and found this fact. His name is Ravindran "Ravi" Mahadevan. "Ravi pleaded guilty in 1992 to misdemeanor theft from his employer, a computer business in Mason City"

http://wcfcourier.com/news/regional/articl...fa3a134af5.html

Summary of my communication with him as below

My reply: 1 day after the COD day, I demanded a refund beause he is actually selling me a clone Nokia N95. I have checked intensively on internet to ensure that I am not accusing people wrongly
Ravi: He mentioned that he didn't know it is imitation and he also said I have seen and tested the product so its my fault
(His reply is very suspectful because during his pm he got mention he uses the GPS of which the phone has no GPS)

My reply: I told him that lowyat.net did not permit seller to sell clone/ imitation product. I mention that we are not talking about the condition of the phone instead he is not being truthful and conning me into buying cloned stuff of which his advertisement should not be up at this website at the first place.
Ravi: He replied that i never asked him whether it is cloned Nokia N95 or not.. so its my fault. He also say that i can resell it again

My reply: I told him i am not so irresponsible to sell imitation product and let others feel cheated... like me... If really the case, are u asking me to actually con other and if u say the mod will let u do that, then this forum is actually recommending this transactions? I told him i will be making a complain about him in the dispute corner.

I think he is currently working near All-IT and Jaya33 shopping complex as helpdesk or maybe also as a IT trainer. More info can be obtained from the website below.
http://ravi6662.web.officelive.com/resume.aspx

My intention is to prevent other potential buyers against this seller. Other forumer has complained b4 about him. Pls see the link below:
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...647&hl=ravi6662

Moderator, please consider blacklisting him and from my opinion, having such a forumer who is not responsible/not honest member will not benefit our beloved forum. Actually what set apart your forum with "www.m*d*h.com" is that most forumers here are selling legitimate products and are more trustworthy seller. I can see that moderators here are taking stiff actions on threads that sells fake items which is very very encouraging.

However, from my opinion, harder punishment should also be taken to those sellers who claim they are selling original products but in actual fact selling fake products.

If required by moderator, I can forward all his PM to verified our dealings...

From cheated buyer...

COD also been coned..
why u not check it carefully?

The outlook is almost 100% original and there are alot of fake icons in the phone. This is not the version where even the LCD is low resolution. By testing it on the spot most likely cannot detect that why alot of people also got con if u check the internet... unless u are very very familiar with the phone...

Even my friend who owns a Nokia N95 thought its just a firmware problem, but instead it is not because even Nokia PC suite can't detect the phone.

It mostly can be detected when connect to PC.

If only you turned on the phone during COD, you can tell immediately that its a china set.
Careless has a price.

Seriously, I did turned on the phone .. also i checked the LCD and also made a call....

I really disagree with your statement" if u turned on the phone during COD, you can tell immediately that its a china set"

Have u seen the clone b4? The LCD is not those low resolution type, instead same like the original. When taking pic, got flash, if turn the phone side way, the lcd also turn side way, icons are same like the original phone, got nokia sticker, etc...

But I agree that after very close inspection and after doing research online, u can differentiate it. It took me a day to research as i thought it is only old firmware.

If the seller has intention to con you and not being honest, it very hard to detect if you never own the phone b4, but think again, if u have the phone b4, why u buying it again?

The above is the main reason why certain forum are more popular for buying/selling original product than others.

I don't think i can get back my money from him as he don't seem to care.

Can someone teach me how to ban him from Lowyat.net?

I felt very angry and cheated because I save up RM400 for a phone with GPS and wifi, but end up with a phone that has spec lousier than my Nokia 6300.

I am a fresh grad only and that amount is quite alot for me...

Seems like he try to run away. So, i suggest u go ahead with a report to TTPM, and send him a copy of report. Let see how he gonna respond. Gudluck. smile.gif

U know what he just did just now? 21/3/2011, around 11.30pm

He called me but my old nokia 6300 phone did not recognised his number because my phone just updated new firmware, so he first straight ask me want to sell your n95 phone? Then i politely ask who is this on the line as i felt puzzle, he reluctant to tell me who is he once he suspect i didn't recognise his number. Then he started to lie (the thing he does best) when i ask him whether he is from singapore, he say yes and I met him before and i say to him i got nokia n95 for sale and so on.....

Then i told him i have never advertise the phone before and i informed him clearly that it is a fake nokia n95 and i also asked him how he knows i have nokia n95? He said i met him before and gave my number to him.

Then I mistaken him for a new friend i just met who works in Singapore . But i suspect a bit weird because the way he speak is quite different, also i never inform anyone that i got con by buying a fake nokia n95 except my brother. I felt embarrass and sad to even tell my parent and also my friends. However, some friends i know aware that i just bought nokia n95 but i have stop using it after 1 day.

Then he started lying again saying that fake and original nokia n95 same value, he mention spare part is the one that is expensive. Then i told him the spare part is fake wor, no value... he say no no... spart part is same and battery all very expensive... he say can go shop and sell RM600. The he say he bought fake nokia n95 for RM200 and when go to shop, the shop offer him RM600. Wah finally I know that he bought for RM200 and making a proft of another RM200... no bad hah... Ravi...

I really felt suspicious and i know already this is definately not my new singapore friend, then i asked him are u the guy who sold me the phone? Ravi6662, then he said no. He said his name is "Raj. " Wow lie again.... so i told him i think u got the wrong person but since he was saying about the good deal of fake nokia n95, i asked him whether he wants to buy my fake nokia n95, he said no, he asked me to sell at phone shop in KL sentral, can get Rm600...

Then he ended the call. I felt really suspicious that he is Ravi so i check my dispute thread and confirmed his number. He also sent me an amusing pm which i have posted in this thread...I sent him an sms saying u are the person that sold me the phone and i ask him why he calls me for... he replied asking me why i say he con me into buying the phone... WHAT A JOKE MAN!!!!!!

I finally got it, he called me to try to convince me to sell the phone so that he can wash hand. Then he tell me all the good deal because he wants me to go to shop and try to sell, and when the shop offer a replica nokia n95 price (Maybe RM50-100) then i will just sell the phone cos desperate and will think better got a bit then nothing... What a snaky guy man... Don't worry i will not sell this phone to remind me to be careful when dealing with people like u... and people who buy secondhand phone are usually not so well-off, just like me and so i won't let them feel the same thing that i have went through. Also I knows how it feels to be cheated after saving for a new phone... i have asked the another forumer that complain about u before and we both agreed that "what goes around, comes around." Its ok, someone above is watching.

U ALSO SAID U HAVE DONE FIRMWARE TO THE N95.
U SAID I WAS FROM SINGAPORE.. I NEVER DID.
DONT PUT WORDS IN PEOPLES MOUTH....

No. I told u clearly i done firmware update to my nokia 6300 la.., then i clearly say i never use the nokia n95 of which u asked me why never use, I told u clearly its a fake china phone... I got nokia 6300 and a replica china phone, which one will u use??????? Either u dont understand me or u try to lie.... I can't remember who started the singapore thingy but maybe u are right, sorry for that, but I can clearly remember u played along and continued saying that u are from Singapore... wow man.. lying is in your blood? A simple "no" and introduce your self is enough to alert me that i am speaking to Ravi6662.

YES U DID MEET ME. AND U DID GIVE UR NUMBER...
Agreed. But pls be honest that u are not trying to tell me you are ravi ok.... u are trying to mislead me that u are someone else... i am totally loss that time...

U STOP USE IT CUZ U MODIFIED THE FIRMWARE... RIGHT?
I told u i am using Nokia 6300 ....i only use that n95 for 1 day and left it at home. Also how to update firmware on China phone ????? LOL if can then its original Nokia N95 la...Nokia software update can't even detect the phone..u shud know better cos that's the reason u are selling me this fake phone

LOL.. I NEVER SAID THAT..
WONDER WHERE U GET UR STORIES FROM.
OR U JUST GOOD ON DEFENDING URSELF.
I HAVE NO TIME FOR UR GAMES.
GROW UP..
Oh my god, lying through your teeth, unbelievable... god knows man... really unfortunate that we are speaking thru phone

LOOK UP BUYERS REMORSE..
AND BUYER BEWARE.
SAME LAW APPLIES IN MALAYSIA.

BOTTOM LINE. U SAW WHAT U WANTED AND BUY IT.
SAME AS U BUY FAKE GAME CD... CUZ IT SAYS AND IS BOXED AS ORIGINAL..
DONT TELL ME U DONT HAVE ILLEGAL FAKE SOFTWARE ON UR COMPUTER...

I want Nokia N95 not a replica Nokia N95? are u acting funny? Buying fake games to compare our situation? U must be joking right. If someone go pasar malam and buy fake game at RM5, do u think he knows its fake even it is packed like original? I think u miss out the very important point, that is the PRICE. If someone go to pasar malam and buy RM250 starcraft game and later found out it is fake, then what we call the seller? I let u decide ok... Remember clearly ok, i paid RM400, and if u look elsewhere, how much is second hand original Nokia N95? RM350 to 450.... So I let u decide ok...

HE DID CHECK IT CAREFULLY..
ALMOST 1HR.
I EVEN LET HIM USE MY SIMM CARD,
CUZ HIS WAS FAUTY OR PROTECTED..
- THINK HE WAS TRYING TO RIPP ME OFF..
THERES ALWAYS 2 SIDES TO EVERY STORY..
AND BOTTOM LINE, HE TESTED AND OFFER TO BUY.

huh? rip you off, like how ah? pls explain your funny reply...As most post paid sim card, once u turn on, it will prompt u for password. I seldom turn off my phone, and i usually type using my nokia 6300 keypad so i somehow (can't believe my self, maybe too excited on the new phone) forgot the password and i typed 3 times wrong code and it lock... how is that i can rip u off??????

I felt pity for you (Ravi) that you (Ravi) sell your name, pride and respect for only RM400. We can still find money if loss but losing your pride, it very hard to get back man. I did not study in United States or stay aboard but I know being respected and having pride is very important for me. It’s no matter how rich, handsome, smart and etc that other people values someone, but it’s how u act and behave.

Earning money this way is short term gain with sacrifice that you need to endure over a lifetime. I still young and have been working only for a few years, but at least I earned my money through my hard work.

But you know what, who cares man, it’s your life and I could be wrong since u have tasted more salt than me… If you can reason-out yourself that you did nothing wrong, good for you.
