what irritate me is pique has become a top player after left MU..he is the king of barcelona's defence now...

what to do bro. it is his luck. surely many will question SAF decision to offload Pique to Barcelona but if SAF hadn't done that then Johnny Evans might not get his chance.

He just doesn't get too many games as wanted, and there's an offer for him to return back to his boyhood club. Hence the decision to left United. Else we will have a Rio Vidic Pique combo edy... It's a waste to let him go though

But here the focus is on how Trappatoni conducted himself. Going public, telling Gibbo to move away from Old Trafford just so he can get an Irish player with more playing time at his disposal? Selfish and disrespectful don't you think? I'd like to think Sir Alex and his backroom team have specific development plans for his younglings. But this guy, what he's doing is pretty much saying "Screw the plans the MU management have for you and move to a team that will give you more playing time right away". Pretty much the same thing Maradona did when Tevez was with us and was so-called "benched more than the other strikers" when he was getting almost equal outings compared to Berba and Wazza.

Two international team coaches did this to us already. For Pete's sake, Scholes is going to be 37 this year. If Fletcher can wait years and years to become a regular first eleven, why can't Gibbo then? Also, in Pique and Rossi we can see that SAF knows when to let these young players go for the sake of their development. He is no selfish manager who won't let players move just so he can have a good player or backup player at his dispossal. So now enlighten me this; who is Trappatoni to tell United to let go of Gibbo whenever he feels like it? What he said was without any knowledge on MU's player development plan I bet!


p/s: Even Ronaldo was given the blessing to move to Madrid by SAF. His only advice and wish was that Ronaldo had stayed for one more season so that his departure will be more accepted by fans as opposed to when the media was making him to be a 'spoilt brat groaning and yelling to be given a transfer to his boyhood dream club'.

Also, I used O'Shea to compare simply because he was also in the Irish starting line up the other day despite not being a regular starter at United. Senor Trappy didn't seem to mind that so why be disrespectful towards the club with Gibbo as the subject?

from business point of view, man utd didn't pay a penny to sign him from barca. then we pay a certain amount for his salary, and later on sold him to barca, place where he was born, for amounted to €11.5 million. that sounds nice.

the only question is, then - we are paying £10million for chris smalling. while smalling is still 'raw' - pique already an established player. i am not sure if we are making a good business here

competition for places and injuries some of the factor.if given the selection between both o'shea will be picked ahed of gibbo wch tells some thing.

The selection argument between O'Shea and Gibson is invalid as Sheasy is a defensive type player whereas Gibson is placed on the field to have a more attacking midfield set up. So you can't say O'Shea will be automatically be picked ahead of Gibbo if both are fit and ready to play.

As for the respectful/disrespectful part, read/reread the long argument I posted in reply to bro alien's post and you'll have a clear picture on why I said he's being disrespectful. I rest my case.
