went for 1st 1k service (actual mileage 8xxkm) today afternoon at PE Mutiara D'sara, they recommended to install a device called 'MagneTrap' which cost RM68.

the product is installed around the oil filter & is supposed to :-
-remove unwanted metals particles from the engine by trapping it to the side of the oil filter
-therefore maintaining cleaner engine oil

so, went ahead & paid for it while the normal 1k service is foc via voucher.. can 'tekan' the engine now :-)

any of u guys were recommended this product during servicing at this sc or other sc?.
*
yes, i paid last week at the same service center

Added on February 14, 2011, 9:28 pmEco tint for Inspira is selling at RM 3000, this is the top range of Ecotint product, double tint may void both warranty plus illegal. I got it replaced last week due to small bubbles.

guys, i have bought a small spare tire for Inspira, 16 inches, perfectly fit !!
small modification: reduce the lock nut by 1 inch and the thin wood board has to put some pieces of form like Insoflex under it to prevent sound.
and now u have big boot space !! cost RM 100

quite big actually..dont forget that lancer uses multilink suspension which uses up more space than the torsion beam cars
*
the space utility is at maximum space, just take out the tire and form the cover up with board yourself and check, this is what the space you will have

Thanks for the no, but the shop actually selling the spare tyre or they do the 'modification' to the boot?

Will do it also..  smile.gif
*
this is a "chop shop" when you get the tire, its just plug n play, small modification like cutting 1 cm of the cover cloth and cut the screw by 1 inch

Sityong, thanks for the contact. Btw, what is the rating on the space saver wheels? Can I know the load handling rating. Chop shop means wheels sourced fr diff vehicles and ratings?

i just tell him i want Lancer GT 16' Rim, 5 holes, they understood. My rim condition is 7/10 as they put t under the sun and with rain, but after cleaning and give some "shining" it is now 8/10, check picture

you can see the screw is 1 inch higher, so have to cut shorter, i haven't cut. The yellow sticker said i put the rim upside down (wrong way) but only putting this way is the perfect fit. (Enlarge picture to see)

That means the spare tire is not for inspira. It has to be for other car make. Do they have evo X spare tire at the half cut shop?
*
they have! but Evo X different from GT right? call the Puchong branch and check

Hmm, is it possible that the label mentioning the tyre is upside down is meant for when you fit the tyre to the car, and not meant to be read when storage? What does the label say exactly bro SitYong?
*
if you put the other way, there is not the same level, you need longer screw and the wood board can't fit evenly as it is higher in the middle, actually the car got a curve in like plate, so the way i place is exactly fit, the higher metal will not touch the boot body as the body also fix with anti scratch sticker, so no worry if wrong way or put more sponge like insuflex to prevent vibration and sound proof !! cool....
Friday TT and check it yourself
p/s: i think the "wrong way" meaning when you using it and not placing it in the boot

Had this problem since day 1.

when go above 110km/h will have this hissing sound.

went to eon ipoh on 17th feb and have it checked..foreman opened the window seals and put it back and did several high speed runs, even took out the visor and cant find out why. before i left, he adjust the door to close deeper and now the sound only comes from 120-130kmh onwards.

what you bros thing could be the problem? i ask eon ipoh to change the weatherstrip but now they say need to ask proton mechanic to check, do test runs again which im not keen on.(eventhough eon foreman confirms that there is such sound).

now, cant do much till around end of May, will be busy with my exams in usm kubang kerian.

Called eon customer service and tomorrow she'll call me back to update me on the situation.

*
my hissing is because of the door visor, i used Mugen type, wrongly installed, it should stick to the lower line. Going to stick again tomolo

Isnt that some kinda of voltage stabilizers?? Same function as the Pivot or other brands... there a few sellers of DIY VS using many capacitors.... cheaper and more powerful than Pivot branded ones...

my solution for the boot screw (spare tire rim), make a new screw with extra washer to make it perfectly fit
so you need the original washer and this new washer to adjust to perfect. (i am using 2" screw but still a bit higher so have to add washer
TT tonight and have a check

my spare tire already using smaller rim (same as GT) so the longer screw can't fit anymore, much bigger boot space now
