QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Mar 4 2011, 12:38 PM) Story? Yesterday I also watch "127 hours" not BD la... it is not out yet.. 4 star.... that actual person is so Brave! amputate his right arm with a dull knife, but this is the only way to free himself after his arm became trapped by a boulder. Considering buy the original BD of "127 hours". Music compose by A.R. Rahman and directing by Danny Boyle. Both my favorite. it's a gr8 movie - gd acting, gd cinematogrphy, gd direction & gd score... but it's a one-time viewing for me, so no to bd. maybe a gd making ofs featurette or price might change my mind...

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Mar 4 2011, 11:24 PM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Baraka means blessing in a multitude of languages. This is a 1992 non-narrative film directed by Ron Fricke and was the first in over twenty years to be photographed in the 70mm Todd-AO format.
Baraka is also the only film that re-scanned at 8k resolution with special dedicated equipment did at FotoKern Laboratories. This automated 8k film scanner has operated continuously more than 3 weeks for finishing the scan with more than 150,000 frames, producing over 30TB of image data in total. It has been spend a total of 16-months for digital intermediate process re-mastered before releasing it as blu-ray.
Baraka was filmed at 152 locations in 24 countries. It is one astonishing work ever did.
Baraka proof viewing pleasure means thousand word. See it to believe how brilliant spectacular it being film and produce.
Baraka give you the most beauty of earth where you never feel and seen before & some meaningful element, your life is something missing without watching it.
Picture Quality Unbelievable how stunning the picture quality is where you hardly believe it was shooting on year 1992. It is by far the only beyond top notch quality you ever seen in any recent film transfer. The beauty and clarity deserved it 8k transfer.
The output is like you seen in real life where it surpass for the most aclaim outstanding movie - Avatar which basically mostly did in CGI, Baraka is not CGI, Baraka is real!
They is no single issue of DNR, EE or whatever technology apply, no sign of edge issue, judder, color banding, over sharpen or whatever you name it, it is not there. The only there is pure perfection transfer ever did.
Audio Quality Even though this film without any narration, the perfect music score by Michael Stearns and featuring music by Dead Can Dance, L. Subramaniam, Ciro Hurtado, Inkuyo, Brother and David Hykes is outstanding than whatever you believe! Without them, this film is nothing.
Conclusion The only film that beyond the edge. Top notch transfer in both PQ & AQ.
A must own for any blu-ray lover and a must seen film in your entire life at least once!
5 star for everything Baraka deserved! 10 out of 10 without any doubt! Brilliantly bravo!
Can't wait for it sequal "Samsara" which schedule to be release in unknown time on this year 2011.
Agreed 100%!! ...and BARAKA certainly much2 better than ALAKA!

blu-ray crazy? over purchased? no place to store?? addicted ka....? hahaha... now u all know! i still remember the 'poison' that we get around here not so long ago that started all these purchases when blu-ray was rather new in the market... luckily those days already passed for me. now only looking forward to cheap2 sales like the annual favorite - the Black Friday sales. only can afford during that period... amazon.com used to have periodically sales like the infamous BOGO, B2G1 etc etc.... but now no more; mainly because during those time they are encouraging people to upgrade to blu-ray from dvd, but now if they do that they only put those old/unwanted back-catalog titles

QUOTE(johnbluraylover @ Mar 13 2011, 03:04 PM) APOCALYSE NOW UK is released under STUDIO CANAL, so it will be Region B. Studio Canal Region B disc can be play at PIONEER Zone A player. u just need to do some trick with your remote. (also depends your firmware) Try your luck, brother with the following steps: 1st - put in the ZB disc to your Pioneer Player 2nd - it will display at your screen as Zone B Disc 3rd - press STOP button with your remote 4th - the disc will stop plaing with pioneer logo at the screen 5ft - Press "Next" with your remote haha, if u are lucky, the disc will start at Chapter 1. THis work with most UK OPTIMUM disc too. But, not at the Disney/fox/new line release. haha... nice one. hope more bd players capable to overide some region lock discs in future. i still owned a '98 pioneer dv-505 dvdp; where with a few remote tricks can overide all dvd regions This post has been edited by fadthil: Mar 13 2011, 03:47 PM

QUOTE(low98944 @ Mar 23 2011, 10:59 AM) I also headache since in the middle of writing last message, I just realised BD45 don't have RJ45 port But since I don't have BD45 with me, so, I also don't what to do and I believe you can't find BD-Live function in BD45. My experienced with Panasonic BD60 is, once I play the Robin Hood (UK Steelbook version) the screen also black for quite long time. At that time, my BD-Live function is set to "Limit". All this while, setting BD-Live to "Limit" didn't give me any problem until I play this Robin Hood. So, at that time, I directly swicth off the power and restart my BD player. After restart my BD player, I eject the disc first and then enter setting menu to change BD-Live function from "Limit" to "Prohibit". After that, everything run smoothly with any problem. But your case is BD45 without RJ45 port, also make me wonder how to do it... hmmm... could it be that this bd player needs external device like a pen drive to run this disc? ...like one title before if i'm not mistaken because not all bdp have bd-live or internet connection; at least the earlier models...

QUOTE(johnsontys @ Mar 27 2011, 01:34 PM) Guys, Today both my wife and mom ask me two questions which I am unable to answer and probably you can share your experience to answer them Question 1 - Of all your BD collection, you have not even watch half of them and yet you are continuing your purchase, shouldn't you watch all first before making the next batch of purchase? Question 2 - Of those you have watched, how likely are you to re-watch it again and again and they are most likely to be stored in the cabinet to collect dust - so what's the point of buying so many BDs Well, I am lucky to say that affordability is not an issue but I seriously do not know how to answer those questions. Please help! hahaha... facts well pointed out! in my case roughly less than 15 bds haven't unwrapped or watch. i'll always buy movies that i like (so does everyone else) and the ones that have repeated viewing values.... so movie like The Sixth Sense (which i like) but sadly i won't buy the bd....
