land can profit but BD make u poorer..  whistling.gif
which one you choose?

BD can profit too if u buy the land, then build a mini cinema (with more than a '2-seater' of course tongue.gif) and installed a good AV set-up while charge viewers with minimal fees for any BD movies in your collection.... sure prosper (not poorer) laugh.gif

the bonus disc are DVD not BD  cry.gif

when the hobbit release, most likely the studio will release another version with all in BD  mad.gif

QUOTE(johnbluraylover @ Mar 29 2011, 03:28 PM)
NEW LINE - very cheap/lousy tactic to release the Extra in DVD. afterall, LOTR is masterpiece & the disc is a must, how could NEW LINE Studio do this to us? besides, they are charging us at a very high $ & we do not mind of paying, at least give us good quality.

bad studio always try to maximise $ from fans like us.

eg. Fox release Alien Box set first. all fans have to buy the box set regardless u like Alien 3 &4. aftter all hardcore fans spend the big buck, Fox will then only release the individual disc for each movie.  few years later, they repack the whole thing & come out with like xx year aniversary edition without adding much feature.

New Line is even worst, relaese the Theatrical version first, then he exytended version.

I did ot know the extra are in DVD.
This issue I've mentioned in a thread few years back regarding why some 'special feature' discs have to be on DVD instead on BD I really don't understand.... as in my case of Hell Boy II: The Golden Army!!?! doh.gif

Like in LOTR EE case, worst still.... because I bet 9 out of 10 of eagerly-awaiting LOTR fans out there would've owned the EE before on DVD format and don't need a replica of it.... rclxub.gif

Nope it's not the same. UK uses Jewel casing i guess (what ever the casing type called). US BD in case + Slipcover. eBay? Cheaper  yes for me..if you know how to bid wisely and have to keep monitoring the bidding price.
There's a trick tho tongue.gif
QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Apr 2 2011, 02:19 PM)
I love the UK jewel case (ok la just call it jewel case seems no name had been given). Now still selling same packaging?
QUOTE(low98944 @ Apr 2 2011, 02:38 PM)
Got.  DVDBeaver called it "Custom Blu-ray foldout case" for Back to the Future Trilogy and "Custom thick cardboard Digipak" for Taxi Driver.

Ralph Potts from AVS Forum called it "trifold style Blu-ray case" for Back to the Future Trilogy and "tri-fold hardcover book style keep case" for Taxi Driver...

Cabut...
*
Looks more like a Digipak casing to me.... only wif 2 folds. I get a lot of this kind of terminology for casing ever since dvd-era... there's a jewel case (similar to the ones use to store cd), Warner's snapper case & the popular keep case (amaray & another popular brand...) and I guess with bd, mostly are using keep case to standardise all normal release titles. smile.gif

QUANTUM OF SOLACE should be view as the 3rd act of the new james bond movi, CASINO ROYALE basically has the first 2 act, 1st is the introduction, 2nd is the adventure & betrayal, 3rd is the revenge. i like QOS, i just cannot accept directo always intercut the action scene, the action scene itself already is very powerful, no need to mix with other scene.

but the BDS of QOS is a must for demo.

Martin Campbell is the best 007 director in recent memory for me... he directed 2 of my fav: Goldeneye & Casino Royale!

Instead of re-releasing these titles , they should focus on bringing titles that are not on blu-ray yet like Finding Nemo

Yup, what's new... that's how big studios make big moo-lah out of us; milking fans with as many versions possbile to be released over & over again. Luckily for me, in this case I only owned 1 Pixar title thus far. tongue.gif

everyone seems to be crazy with steelbooks... luckily i'm not. i don't know how to appreciate it bcoz although it does look cool, it is prone to dent & is not scratch-proof (based on my Avatar steelbook). well, to each their own... icon_rolleyes.gif
