Added on April 3, 2011, 9:39 amSEVEN SAMURAI, a Japanese Samurai movie made in 1950s by AKIRA KUROSAWA. It has no CGI, no violence, not in cinema scope (1.33 ratio) and even no color, yet it became an instant epic in action movie. good story, directing, acting, i just love it.

CRITERION collection on SEVEN SAMURAI is cool. however, the pic quality is just not up to the HD standard.

ANGELINA got a very long /uncut scene in ORIGINAL SIN - UNRATED, for her is no big deal, may be uncle BRAD doesn't like to share with us.

Criterion has spend lots of effort in restored & remastered Seven Samurai, however the original film negative is not available anymore. The BDs quality is ok, i did not mean to criticise it, somehow i just wish it could be better as it is my top 10 movie, i just could not treat the BDs as my top 10 BD. I just wish it Pic quality can match CRITERION another Samurai Box set Yojimbo & Sanjuro.

i really wanted to add Johnny MAd Dog to my collection, the BDS review is available at bluray.com french section. the rating is at very top, but it is a very violence movi.

have u check out my pic on GANGS OF NEW YORK from AMZ CANADA? very good pic quality, i have done some checking, it is the same as AMZ US 2nd remastered release, just with a much more cooler steelbox.

CRITERION LAT EMPEROR pic is not in original aspect ratio, it is in 2.1 to 1, the original ratio should be 2.35

AMZ GERMAN might goin to release LAST EMPEROR at 2.35 to 1, stay away from CRITERION first

i know, brother, i just wanted to add another point that THE CRITERION COLLECTION's THE LAST EMPEROR should not be the best choice.

i can accept 2 channel cause not all movies were made for 5.1 channel, WOODY ALLEN always prefer mono/stereo, lots of movies prior to 1990s were recorded in stereo.

CRITERION is very faithful in the presenting the sound in original feel, not like BLUEUNDERGROUND always remix all the 1960s & 1970s horror movie from stereo to 7.1

however for THE LAST EMPEROR, I kind of curious also why no 5.1 , afterall, it was made in mid 1980s & it was a big budget movie.

my LAST EMPEROR is from UK OPTIMUM & got stereo 2.0 (LPCM) only

cool, how long hv u waited? i also order PSYCHO but not yet arrived.

pls comment on HULK & BOOK OF ELI PIC, & how the steel box inside look like?

i don't think is DHL, i think is more like AMZ FRANCE, how long have u waited? mine is 7 days but still not arrive. my AMZ FRANCE arrived in 14 days.

still like AMZ UK the best, 5 disc arrived today, all in good condition, just took 9 days to arrive.

same go here brother,

i was treated even worst, they didn't refund me a single cent & waited for another 30 days. after the waiting, they refund me & send me a replacemnet by charging me again, the in & out in USD$ always cost me a lot for ex-rate dif.

may be they hv encountered to many lost/delay in package whereby they cannot affort to pay$ as compensation anymore.

time to switch to the nipple AMZ UK, haha
